Why did the factory use fine thread bolts in so many locations?

    I didn't take it as you being angry either. I just took it as your experience tells you that you're okay with their consistent fine thread skid plate mounting bolts. But on the internets it's hard to get a read on anyone. I just assume everyone is really nice and wants to help me unless they personally tell me otherwise :D

    Part of this is a common misconception- fine threads are actually stronger than course, given an identical material and size. They will back off slower than course threads, all reasons why they're used for certain applications such as lug nuts and leaf spring u-bolts.
