Why did the shootout threads get locked?

I'm not trying to be a wiseass. I seriously don't understand why the mods locked the previous two threads with zero explanation? Are we not allowed to rip on the Ridgeline?

I surmise the third thread turns into a shit show because the first two were locked down without explanation.

Quoting one of the Mods, "3rd lock is pretty indicative of an impending problem." Third thread aside, what is the problem?

Meh... half the threads here get randomly locked, or posts get deleted - usually without any explanation. Status quo.

 

I feel like people practically beg to get banned and reported, like it's a status symbol or something. Some of em, I do understand. A few actually have legitimate questions. But with so many of them, it's like
