Way too big, and in my area more expensive.

I bought a Tacoma because I don't need or want a full size truck. I can get in and out of places with ease plus its perfect for the family.

Same reason I bought a Colorado instead of a Silverado. 2 people in my house and I just drive to a desk job daily. Full size is more than I need to spend in payment, fuel and more size than I need.

Tundra wasn't offered in stick shift. Also, didn't really need the extra size.

I think you can get the Regular Cab Long Bed in 2wd in stick shift. I wanted a stick shift and 4wd and only haul a moderate amount of ass.

30% fuel economy difference between my truck and a similar priced Tundra (regular cabs are only available with the 5.7 in Canada). In the 33 months that I've had my truck, this would be a $5700 difference. I need to work a long time to line my pockets with that amount of take home pay...

I often wish I got the tundra, I chose the taco for the fuel savings. But honestly The 5.7 tundra gets almost the same MPG, but its hell of alot more truck.

Good friend of mine has a 2013 tundra 5.7, loaded DBL cab and his MPG is normally within 1-2 MPG of mine

But the taco does fit my needs, the tundra is just more of a want.

    1) Fuel economy with the 2.7

    2) Manual transmission

    3) Size - My Tacoma's roof is literally an inch from the ceiling with the 4x4 and stock tires. When I first got the Tacoma, I was upgrading from a single cab rwd ranger. At the time, the Tacoma was a lot of truck for me.

Yeah that wouldn't work, need 4 seats, and 4wd for WI winters.

Because a tacoma will fit into my garage. I laugh at all my neighbors who have a full size truck parked in their driveway and have never seen a trailer hooked to it or the bed full of heavy equipment. I never understood the fascination with driving a full size truck when a light truck or SUV can do all the work most families need.

Drivability-much rather drive a smaller auto!
PLENTY of power. BTW also have a big truck-2500 diesel-only drive it when needed.
    LOVE the TACOMA!

I had a regular cab short bed tundra 5.7 trd it was awesome but even that was a boat, and it was my first auto, I felt like it was missing a pedal after awhile. also that dam center console is way oversized more intrusive then the Tacoma's imo

Tonneau cover, tail lite protectors, weather tech floor mats. Much more to come.
Tacoma looks nicer IMO. Tundra is a lot of truck though. Plus I don't need an 8 cyl.

Tundra was ugly to me and It was almost the same price as the Tacoma at the time, they had $7k off msrp from the tundra, still went tacoma

Had a 05 Tundra before the Tacoma and only reason didn't get a new Tundra is they are a lil too big now. If they were the same size as my 05 with the 4.6 would have def got a new Tundra. I do miss the small v8 and the extra room of the Tundra.
