35-40 MPH. Never even had a chance to break. Slam dunk claim. Police officer just behind me. Witnessed the whole thing.

Maybe this'll help. I've had 2 Tundras and a Titan. Now, 2019 Tacoma dc. Do I off road? Nope. Well, at least not on purpose. Daily drive it, up. Tow with it? Yup. That was the big question for me. I tow frequently, but no big weight. Nothing over 3000#. 6x12 v nose, 3 with my tools, 2 4wheelers, about 1800, and 2 skis, about 2200. So coming out of a 5.7v8 you might notice a power loss. But the Tacoma is very capable. Especially if you're not a lead foot. After 7 months I'll see 20+mpg daily, and I regularly see 16mph pulling the trailers. My concern with the enclosed trailer would have been if I ever had to do a long windy highway run, which rarely if ever happens. My last 2 v8's were stuck on 13mpg. So I'm doing better than that. It didn't take me long to get over the size difference. The truck feels good. My daughter whine a little about the backseat being smaller, but, meh, they only have to do that if we cottage maybe once a month.

    For what it's worth haha...

I honestly looked at the Colorado's and GMC's for a minute. I talked to the salesman at the Chevy dealer and he said, is that your Toyota outside? I said, yep. He said, have you always driven Toyotas? I said, yep. He said, you don't want a Chevy or a GMC, they're junk. lmfao!

I have a 2004, yeah not the same as a 2020 but a 2020 is just a way better version of what i have lol. I can load my 3 quads and my dirtbike on my 16' trailer, load up a weeks worth of camping gear and head out for the Oregon Dunes and never go below 65mph on the freeway. It has plenty of power for what i need it to do! It's as reliable as I make it with proper maintanece and it's gets about 18-21mpg on the freeway and highway if I can keep my foot out of it and drive normal haha!

My boss drove his 2005 Tacoma (and still has it @ 387,000+ miles) while towing a trailer everyday. Sometimes a dump trailer weighing in around 3-4k lbs or a cargo trailer weighing in at 3000lbs. He never ever had a problem with it.

My mom has a 2002 double cab 4x4 and she tows an old 1990's 22' camp trailer all over the PNW and has had zero issues! Is it going to win a race towing a trailer? Nope, will it get the job done and leave you with a smaller rig for running around town the rest of the time? Yep!

My current truck is a 2004 Tacoma and my next truck 20 years from now will be a new Tacoma.

Most likely will go with the Sport. I'm not an off-roader and actually prefer a harder suspension that feels more solid.

I’m going sport too with the premium package but if I could have had the off road with long box in Canada I might have gone that way.

My current one is my third. Sold my first gen because it was manual and I was moving to Chicago and didn't want to put a clutch in it every month. I also had an ARB winch bumper and probably would have used it in that traffic. Sold it and bought an infiniti G37x.

This was what karma dealt me the day after spending 10 hours detailing the car:
    IMG_20130601_095422_120.jpg

That was a great car for me at that time. Had it about 4 years and then traded it in on a DCSB 2008 Tacoma. I totaled it in a wreck that could have killed me, but I only needed stitches (like 50 of them, but still, it was just a flesh wound).

    IMG_136841428307286.jpg

Bought the DCLB because the short bed always seemed to fill up too fast. The shorter turning radius was nice, but I like the long bed better. An access cab would have been fine too, but I like the extra in cab space is the DCLB and it so far hasn't kept me from going anywhere off road that I wanted to go.

37,000kms and 2 ½ years of ownership. I have zero regrets. I love my truck. Have taken it down to Portland, to Whistler. Drive to and from work. Towed a small trailer ( with weight up to 800kgs ) I plan on keeping it for the long haul.

It was always on my list. Watching back to the future as a kid it was just the coolest thing behind a delorean. Family has had them around as long as I can remember. Never had a new vehicle besides Harley’s cause that was my thing for a long time and my dd so didn’t care about my other cars or trucks.

I've owned several full size trucks from a '97 3500 long bed chevy diesel to most recently a '14 Ram 1500. I've ALWAYS like the Tacomas for their off-road capabilities due to their size and weight. My Ram was needing a lot of work put into it at 160k miles and I felt it was time to finally make the jump. I'm a big guy 6'1 250 lb so it took some extended test drives to make sure I liked the fit. But I was so ready to pull the trigger.

Relax, it was a smart comment. Sick burn btw.

Also to bring you up to speed, Ridgeline is an inside joke on TW.

Now the sensitivity makes more sense. It was a joke and sorry if your Tacoma experience hasn’t been what you wanted. They hold their value, might be worth trading it in on another Ridgeline.

I drove a Ridgeline for 10 years, gave it to my son and against my wife’s wishes a bought a Tacoma. Probably should have listened to her...

Traded in a 2018 Colorado Redline because of transmission issues. The whole truck would shimmy at 1800-2200 RPMs when at speeds over 40mph. Only had 35k miles on it. Wanted something more dependable and choose the 17 OR DCSB.

I had a '98 Ranger. Bought it new. It was a great truck, but I didn't drive it much anymore because I drove the hell out of it and it needed replaced. The Tacoma has a great reputation. And it simply looks bad ass. Best decision I made in awhile...……...LOL

    1) looks amazing
    2) manual transmission
    3) resale value
    4) long term reliability (in most cases)
    5) I build lots of shit
    6) Loading up mountain bikes, kayaks
    7) Towing motorcycles/boat

I do not like it as much as my old Forester on most days but I need a truck bed/towing ability just enough that the Forester didn't quite cut it for me. I also require a manual otherwise I prob would not have bought a Tacoma, specifically.
