Why did you choose a 2nd gen over a 3rd gen?

You said he doesn’t know what he’s talking about because he didn’t own a 2nd gen, so how is that different when you haven’t owned a 3rd gen?

Because he's informed me everything I need to know about my 2nd gen. Mostly hanging on to frame rot(knowing nothing about anybody having any problems past 2010) I only argue the case of power on the 3rd gen from my experience test driving several of them manual and automatic, at least it started off being on topic.
Now it continues on who gets the last word in.
He just chooses to act more like a child as we go on.

He hasnt. He is a complete hypocrite. Guy hasnt owned a third gen but proceeds to tell me how I cant talk about a 2nd gen since I havent owned one.

    Logic fail.

Butted in? Last time I checked, this was an open forum.

This is just entertainment. You dont have to read it.

Hahaha... what a hypocrite! You have had less experience with the 3g than the experience that I have had with a 2G. Yet somehow, you feel like you are the final word when it comes to tacomas.

    Lmaoooo

Is not, it is exactly the same thing.... Im sure in his next reply to you, he will find a way to justify himself to you (in his little brain).

I haven't "informed you" of anything... Im just toying with you. Working you like dough at a pizza parlor.

I actually love the 2nd gens. Thought about buying one myself. It just so happened that I decided to go for the superior vehicle. You know, the vehicle that Toyota AND their engineers think is the better vehicle deserving of their brand.

I guess you know more than them too, huh?

Nope. I have had nothing but a good time playing in here. This is a win for me.

Glad you can accept your defeat.

I'm hoping everyone goes for the 3rd Gen, so I can have my pick of second Gens.

I wanted a later 2nd gen in hopes that most of the hiccups were resolved by that time. I also wanted the improved touchscreen radio and the upgraded front end (lights/grill design) of the 2013-2015. I ended up with a 2013 DCSB 6cyl MT MGM. I am very pleased with it so far. :) (Paid 20k, had high miles).

The 3rd gen was more than I wanted to pay and it had not been "proven" yet as the 2nd gens.

If the price for the gen 2 and gen 3 is close that's a good negotiating tool to get the second gen cheaper!

I've chimed in before on this and had fun bashing on the 3rd gen, but I'll be completely honest here. I love my second gen. The ONLY reason I would even consider trading it in for a 3rd gen is the interior. 3rd gen has a better interior for sure, it's hard to argue otherwise. However while the 3rd gen isn't a bad looking truck, I still think my 2012 looks better, has a better drivetrain, and is more reliable.

When I can get a decent deal on a 3rd gen DCLB TRD OR with leather heated seats as a standard option, I'll consider trading.
