    It worked out!
I had a 01 ranger i liked but never modded It like i do my tacoma.
The availability of parts is amazing, they're just like jeeps - endless options.

Ive never had regrets getting mine!

So a full size 4 or 2 door f150 long box?

    Toyota reliability.
I've had numerous Toyota's over the years and the thing that killed them was rust (North East) and not mechanical issues.

Got a 2002 Highlander back in 2013 off a family member.

Took a train to Philadelphia and drove it home. Bout 4 hrs on the turnpike. Smiling the whole time because it was the nicest riding vehicle i had ever owned. Felt like driving a brand new car.

A few years went by and I really needed a truck again. So i found a tacoma I liked and went for it.

Bout a year later we replaced my wifes jeep liberty with a T4R.

Yeah like a salad, not as good as a burger or steak but still enjoyable and in the long run the wise decision.

Simplicity and reliability for sure. They may not be the most powerful or fanciest, but the damn things work. Consistently.

I have to keep telling myself its not a raceing truck but ive NEVER felt under powered offroad. Low range 4wd 2nd gear with or without rear locker on this truck rips.
The its a mid size though, do an ls swap and turbo it or get that trd supercharger. IF i get a tow rig and trailer, my tacoma daily is getting some big upgrades.

You know you love you truck ❤❤

I got a Tacoma after realizing I didn't need/want a full size truck for a daily driver. I have a 3/4 ton that I can use for more serious towing if needed here locally but realistically I just needed something to get the wife, kiddos, and myself around as well as haul plywood/drywall, 2x4s, whatever other junk from the box stores. So 4 doors and a bed that didn't cost a fortune was what I was looking for.
Both my dad and my uncle have owned Tacomas. My dad has had his ‘07 since almost new, and its been an amazing vehicle. I’ve known Toyotas, and Tacomas in particular to be reliable and built decent but his truck has impressed me.
I’ve owned several trucks in my life, and a lot of vehicles in general. Tacomas have popped up on my radar but I never pulled the trigger. I really wish I had sooner, thats for sure.
To try and make this short (too late, I know), it fit my needs, and there isn't much substitution for it. Its dang near perfect.

Yea they do have enough power, but it also isn't exactly fast. I'll take reliability and longevity over fast any day though. I was talking to a tech who said he put the supercharger on his second ben and was pretty disappointed in the overall upgrade. It was noticeable but nothing crazy. I couldn't be happier with mine!
