    Awesome!!!

4 timing chains... Wow. What year ranger was that? I had an 01 ext cab ranger that was leaking coolant into the engine - it still ripped!

That was my "pre_tacoma" truck which gave me the 4x4 itch and the addiction to keep modding.

    Thanks for sharing

nada....maybe a license plate one day & BA bumpers
    1. I am a toyota nut from the womb
    2. I previously owned a 2009 taco xrunner in blue (6spd MT)
so I kinda knew what I was getting into, prior to acquiring my 2013 DCLB 4x4 auto
    3. the resale value toyota's hold (if you decide to sell early/not drive it forever) no other brand has this power
    4. (in 2012) at roughly $30-35k brand new, you couldn't get a better deal for an auto with 4 full doors/6' bed/4wd/capable of 20mpg
    5. its the #1 selling truck in the segment for years
    6. its easy to work on at home & their are plenty of folks out there to help/provide insight on a gen2 taco as it is so common place
    7. occasional towing up to 5000 pounds is easily undertaken
    8. there is always room for your dog!
    9. in an 'end-of-days' scenario, the taco (4x4) can turn into a mobile home/survival vehicle
    10. toyota built the gen2 taco for 10 years straight 2005-2015,
that says that it was a really good/future proof design...most generational runs go 3-5 years

    taco for life!

I bought mine because it is the best looking truck out there, super reliable, 200k Kms and no issues. Bought it new.
17 MPG with all mods, great transmission, engine.

Why did I choose Tacoma, more specifically 2nd Gen Tacoma?
    As others have said,
    1. Best looking IMO (12-15)
    2. Reliability
    3. Resale value
    4. Easy to maintain
There is nothing else out there that can compare with Tacoma. A hard choice was actually between Double Cab vs Access Cab. I also love the look of AC, and I let a perfect Access Cab get away before I got mine.

First truck at 16 years old. 1982 Toyota Sr5 pick up 400k miles, next truck 2002 1st gen Tacoma 395k miles both still running when I got rid of them no issues. 2015 2nd gen was a no brainer.
