I bought a house on a dirt road. I needed the ability to haul stuff, needed 4wd for wintertime coming up, and my Mazda3 that I loved wasn't going to cut the mustard. Now I love my Tacoma even more than I did the Mazda.

I got my first Tacoma ('95 RC) cuz my dad was always a big Toyota guy. I got my second ('97 AC) cuz some dick ran a red light and broadsided me in the first. I got my third ('04 AC) cuz I found out the hard way a Mustang isn't an everyday driver, especially in the northeast during winter. And I got my fourth ('06 DC) cuz baby seats don't fit in an access cab. I honestly don't ever see myself driving anything other than a Tacoma.

I got mine because it was a hell of a deal, mother-in-law wanted to get rid of it so I took over payments so only cost me $8500. She ordered it at the end of 06 all maint was done by dealer, garage kept, never taken off-road, waxed every other month, and washed every weekend.

I was jealous of my dad when he bought a '01 1st gen, then I saw the 2nd gen and thought it was the best looking truck around. I couldn't imagine having a different vehicle now....especially cuz its so mod friendly!

Because Toyota stopped selling 1984 Toyota 4X4 trucks with solid axles. Like the one I had from 1984-1987.

I bought mine, and recently I must add, because after researching trucks for many months it was apparent that the Tacomas ended up on top in nearly every category.
I go camping all the time so the 115 volt outlet is gonna come in handy. I hate hooking up my trailer all the time to only haul my quad around. So the bed is of adequate size. Its not some V8 petrol-pig and still has the power to lay down some rubber when I stick my foot in it. Its the most reliable mid-size truck you can get. And not that I intend to but in my opinion, to determine the real value of any car, look at the resale value...

    ....And that's why I was SOLD!!!

I've always wanted a toyota tacoma ever since I was 12 or so. I would always drool over the 1st gens and wish I had one. Of course, money was limited and I could only afford cheap cars but then one day I totaled my subaru outback and insurance gave me $5800 more than what I paid for it...turned around and bought a 2010 access cab trd offroad :D. I'm going to school right now but once I get my degree I want to buy all the offroad goodies and travel across the country.
