I was looking for a $6000 Ranger and ended up buying a $12,000 Tacoma. Very happy with my purchase.

None of the above. Got mine cause I was tired of all the fullsize trucks. Owned 8 fullsize Dodges, diesels and gassers, 2 Dakotas(2mistakes)3 Fords,3 Chevy's. Just wanted a change up and was looking for better fuel eco.Tacoma's style was fresh and hadn't own a Toyota since 1976 when I bought a new 1976 Celica GT Loved that car.
Didn't need the 4x4 but wanted the taller stance of the prerunner.

I've always had older Jap 4x4s for hauling and playing offroad and then older fuel efficient beater for 20 mile commute to work (accords, civic, metro) etc. Kids were getting too big to get all 3 in the back of my Civic coupe so was looking for a 4 door, primarily an Acura TL, when I stumbled across a DC Taco and bingo. Cost me twice what I wanted to spend and mpgs suck for commuting, but I love it and I love driving something every day that I look forward to getting into. Its the ultimate vehicle. Now somebody please figure out a way to splice an electric motor into the rear drive shaft damn it! Can't be that difficult. Always haulin crap: mx, mtb, roadie, trencher, firewood (still got my old T100 for that but nearing retirement).

I got mine because when i got promoted to my new position at work I was given a car allowance, and my old truck was a 1 year too old to meet the requirements. Loved the looks of the Tacoma so went to the dealership found the one I wanted and got a pretty good deal. Nothing like having my company pay for 3/4's of my car payment.

Deadbolt, your sig pic is on the roof at Northridge Fashion Square (the strip next to the mall), isn't it? Man, I remember taking a pic of my old Jeep up there about ten years ago. Hilarious. Had some good time up on that roof.
