It's not new, it's not Mexico
After I bought the truck I had questions about the TPMS and if there were any locking gas cap available. I Googled those topics and most of the responses were TW threads. So I joined, now it's my favorite site.

Because when I traded in my x runner it didn't make sense to keep hanging out over there.

I joined because I was going to be buying a new Tacoma and wanted to do a little homework on problems, etc. I should look out for. Stuck around because my wallet has grown fond of being empty.

I joined because I had just bought my '06 used and wanted it to last forever. So, aside from the scheduled services in the owner's manual and guidance from the FSM, there is no substitute for the real experience of real owners... tips, mods, suggestions, what to watch out for, etc. I wanted to hear what y'all have to say about this truck and it has all been extremely helpful to say the least, and at times very entertaining! Thanks TW!

EDIT: Also I did not like the look, feel, or content of other Tacoma enthusiast websites.

I bought an '05 AC TRD last summer, checked out TacomaNation - didn't like the look of it, saw tacomaworld.com on someones back window and checked it out. Hooked from there.

Layout, support, mods (especially cheap mods) is totally awesome.

    None yet.
Used to post at TN, but had been dormant for a while since I hadn't really done much to my truck other than drive it. Was researching a new Nav system and a lot of the results googling turned up TW threads, so it seemed like the place where all of the smart people were now. ;)

A tree fell on my 93 pickup (also 4wd Xcab) and totalled it, and I had two weeks before the insurance would stop paying for the rental car, and I had to figure out quick WTF to do and what to buy. It was two weeks of pure TW and craigslist.

Then I had to figure out how to fix a few things that weren't quite right and make it mine. Then I had to correct the suspension. By then, I was so high on TW crack I couldn't put down the pipe and stop interacting with the insane bunch of entertaining nutjobs residing in this unholy pile of electrons.

    Mission accomplished.

I love vehicles/motorcycles... all types. I always join vehicle-specific forums to learn from others and get candid advice/experience. Everyone's input (well, maybe everyone's???) voice here is an asset when you consider your vehicle an investment. This forum has been a wealth of knowledge. Thank you all.
