    I like my SR5.
Everything you need nothing you don't.
And it's not push-button-start... that alone was a selling point for me.

    I just got a SR.
What I do love is the SX package, it's all blacked out while others purchase black pieces to cover the ugly chrome. :boink:

I’ve had the 2023 trd sport 6ft bed and 2019 trd off-road 5ft bed. There’s a reason I have the 2023 now. Love my trd sport and the function of the 6ft bed.

The Trd sport is the truck equivalent of the fat 'sports guy' that watches all sports on tv and does the arm chair quarterbacking.... but when it comes down to it, it is wholly unable to play even ping pong with anybskill whatsoever...

Sorry - had to poke my head back in here... :D
    (No offence intended!)

    Ok, ok... Im leaving...

(Hey - :p I have to put up with all the disdain for the PRO - which in reality combines the best of tacodom with the MT. Skewp + the buttery smoothness of the fox shocks... and the panty loosener - As long as you don't overpay!
(I see people paying more for their sport than some have paid for their pro!)

Most people on this board talk like they go off-roading in really rough and remote areas. Maybe that’s true. I don’t know. The off road is a better choice if you’re going off road.

In 2012, the only way to get color matched grill surround, door handles, and mirrors was the Sport. Plus turn signal mirrors. I'd seen too many grayed plastic too want anything else.

So yes, it's a cosmetic package, and I was alright with that.

Plus, you get the blinding effect from the hood scoop when driving towards the sun, so bonus.

When we switched to a 4Runner, my wife was happy to lose the scoop. But then she wanted the OR package since we were upgrading for more offroad capability in the first place (my Taco was a Prerunner), so joke's on her, still blinding.

Taco still looked good 9 years later. And Sport + access cab = best looking Taco (to me).

If the off road was available in a DCLB here in the north I would have gone thst route but no dice so the sport it was. I have no complaints about it 3 years in.

Lots of great stories...and of course, opinions...with a hint of humor added. lol

I know we are all happy with our trucks...at the end of the day, that's what matters.

Nice! I had a black 2020 TRD OR Premium 4Runner. Wish I would have kept it. Having a truck and an SUV is convenient.

I knew this topic might get some attention! What I didn’t realize how deeply divided people with the same common obsession for an amazing vehicle would be. Definitely no offense taken it’s more disappointment.

I’m sorry, but that’s a choice on paper only, not the real world! Now if you’d said you wanted slightly faster acceleration and/or a little bit better MPG, I would have bought that.

    Not really "divided" per se.

Just exuberant enthusiasm & outlandish opinions. lol

I must be mellowing out right now...listening to Robert Plant's "Fate of Nations" CD, released in 1993.

Back on topic...ever since involving myself with Forums in 2011, I've learned to ignore certain online personalities and avoid pitfalls/grief.

Hopefully, you take away more positive than negative...which I'm sure you have.

Thanks for bringing this subject into the fold--it's got all these emojis:

I don’t get the feeling of hate, just TW members mostly love the trim they have. When I bought my Sport I had a 30 mile round trip commute to work (all freeway). I love how my Sport handles on the freeway and I never go off road. My wife has never driven my Tacoma in 8 years because she is short and says she can’t see over the hood scoop. Hood scoop for the win!

No money, all went to truck...
besides the goofy hood skwep and laughs that come with it, sports are fine. All models are fine.
