Hello, i own a 2009 Tacoma. I have owned it for 3.5 years and every year i have had to replace the front bearings and needing a wheel alignments. Up to this point it has been covered by my extended warranty from the dealership i bought it from. My warranty is done now and i am needing to replace the bearings again and my wheel alignment is way off again. The bearings were last done July 2019. Can someone please offer any advice on why this keeps happening?

Hello, welcome to TW! Let's start with the really stupid questions.

Are you off roading the vehicle? Hitting curbs? Potholes? Driving through high water/flooded streets? Driving on the beach?

Clearly something doesnt seem right.. Going to need a lot more info though.

    How many miles?
What type truck? (4x4 or 2x4? 2.7L or 4.0L? etc.)
Lift? If so what, how high, etc?
Any other work done by you?
Any work done by previous owner?

seems to me the dealership is putting in the cheapest aftermarket bearing they can find.

When I used to be a service manager I would always tell people don't cheap out on wheel bearings. I've seen cheap ones last under a year on many occasions.

Not sure what has been done previous car fax etc was clean. Any recalls including frame etc have been dealt with. Have had front drive shaft done, power steering, tie rods twice, bearings 3 times, breaks , spiral assembly, 4x4 acuators maybe a couple other little things

Get in in writing. Most aftermarket warranty companies wont pay the top dollar for OEM parts.

He emailed me a copy of the purchase order from Toyota. I spoke to Toyota today and the bearings were only under warranty for 12 months and its been 15 months since purchase so i am sol there. I am trying to figure out what is causing this or some possibilities of what is causing this so i can correct it as now this will all be out of pocket expenses and its frustrating!!

I purchased new tires last March and the wear pattern is completely worn on the outter edges on the front ones. The middle and inner sides are still pretty much new as are the back tires.

    1. I would change mechanics/dealership. Who told you, you needed all that replaced?
    2. Did they replace the seals? You talking in km. So you are up north? A lot of snow/water? Where do you live: country, city, province?

All work up to today has been done by the dealership under warranty. Regular oil changes have been done at the oil change place. My warranty is up and i have paid off my truck now also. I just need to try to figure out the problem so this doesn't keep happening. This is getting ridiculous

Do you have wheel spacers or aftermarket wheels that push out well beyond the fender?

Something is sure not correct I wonder if your bearings are getting replaced or your just paying for all the work.
