If not spacers, maybe the front and rear aftermarket wheels have different offset? Maybe the rear wheels were put in the front during a rotation?

    Are all 4 wheels identical?

New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
You have a socket set, 1/2" drive? No need to go to da store, find the right socket, remove the bitches and be done with it...pics are now definitely required....

my lugs are 13/16, also subbed for the outcome. And don't feel bad about being young and dumb lol I once forgot to put my lug wrench back in my truck, went wheeling alone, and popped a tire on the trail :anonymous:

I mentioned the same thing earlier, but he said his stock wheels did that too.

I've gone through the whole thread and noticed one thing...no one has asked if the wider track on the front is a problem.
If not, why be worried about it? Yeah, it would be nice to know WHY it's like that, but is it hurting anything? Just sayin'...
Or maybe it's like one of those things that can trigger my minor OCD issue. Not a big problem, but certain things will drive me NUTS until I figure it out!! :)

the fact it sticks out farther makes it rub worse, i'm fairly sure. i haven't seen anyone else that runs 265/70/17's and rub as badly as i do. i essentially have a 4in backspace.

A wider track can create issues when driving through snow, thick mud, or sand as the narrower rear track-width hunts back and forth between the ruts left by the front wheels. This is a common complaint about the V8 79 series land cruisers that have a narrower rear track. Not sure if it would be the same on a Tacoma, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

If you're not driving in snow or sand, it's likely just weird looking, with no other problem.

    It increases positive scrub...
Without the alignment(toe in)to compensate, it'll wear the inside tread. Not to mention the bad handling characteristics.

just got home from class, with a freshly-bought lug wrench. immediately went to taking off the the driver side wheel. (my dad's '98 Jeep in the back).

and look what i found! if i'm not mistaken this is a spacer, no? i have no experience with these things. the truck i had before my taco was a '94 Nissan Hardbdoy completely stock in every way possible. do i just pop the spacers off and mount the wheel back on? thanks.

Fuck yeah, we're right! That's a big ass spacer right there. Take it off if you want even tires.

yup, those are spacers lol, you can take them off but I imagine you'll rub the frame if you do, just check the clearance when you take them off.

Spray each one with penetrating oil and let it sit for a while then come back to it
