Why do people lie about what they paid for a third gen? ... mostly BS thread

Had a conversation with this guy on Facebook. There is a lot of lying on the threads about what people paid on here, too.






He deleted his comment a few minutes after I shared this with him.

People lie about vehicle purchasing in general. I tune out when someone starts telling me how they pulled one over on the salesman. Like the salesman was so gullible he lost all control and sold a vehicle causing the dealership to lose money. Hardly...

 

Probably because Nathan Terrazas paid more than he should have, and learned that after reading forums or FB groups. So, to feel better about himself, he's telling people paid less. He'd hate to be viewed as a sucker.

Seriously, though, I think it's because if somebody got a bad deal or is a bad negotiator they don't want to tell everybody about it on the internet. So they make up a price that they think makes them look awesome instead.

This guy doesn't know how math works and/or he's embarrassed that he spent so much on a truck that yes lying to save face.

I could sell my 2016, used, for $33-34k right now.

Or He's only counting his financed amount and doesn't understand that it's not the same thing.

 

That's some bull shit if I've ever seen it. If he won't show him the god damn receipt that turned my 99% certainty that he was lying into 100%

 

he probably traded something in and 27k was "the price he owed" but he's too stupid to realize that number isn't the price of the truck

 

That and gas mileage. Guys always lie about gas mileage, what they paid for the truck, and genital girth. Not necessarily in that order.

 

Maybe he drank the Miracle Spring Water and it was a gift to him.
