If... IF, they could read it, they would never believe it. Some people get so close minded, that they could never go along with facts.

Next time you get a response like that, point out that imports have been around in this country for well over half a century, so they really need to get over it. Besides, the Toyota Tacoma is nearly as much, if not more (in some cases), American-made then many so-called "American vehicles" today. If they've got a complaint about that, they should obviously start with those supposedly American companies.

Personally, I don't give a darn. I didn't purchase my vehicle to please them and it's really none of their business. The latter even more so since they're likely just as guilty as me - their homes are probably literally filled with imports (electronics, furniture, building materials, food, clothing, etc).

HA! I bought Chevy for 21 years, last one was a 2006 Colorado. My wife at the time had her 1996 Tacoma ext cab 4wd.

A year later (April 08) she brought the truck into the dealer for something, though she hadn't got the buyback letter they inspected the frame and it failed. Toyota bought her truck back with 160K on it for $10k, free rental for 60 days, $1000 off any Toyota at the dealer.

This past July the head went on my Colorado at 78K. The dealer "didn't know" about the service bulletin on the head saying it was to be replaced free until I showed it to him Took them 2 weeks to fix my truck, didn't give me a loaner car. He billed me $1300 for the cam and timing chain it ate when it let go...told me he as the dealer has no authority to goodwill it and I have to call GM for reimbursement. GM tells me they can do nothing and the dealer should have comped it. The dealer told me yesterday he's washing his hands of it since his job is to fix cars not give things out for free...also said he's seen a lot of these heads fail over the years..yet 3 months ago he'd never seen it happen.

Hmm, still wanna be a die-hard "buy American" kind of person? Me neither..

Disclaimer: I read the previous posts about what's made where and agree with it, just making a point
