Why do the 1st gen Limited PreRunner's have a lower KBB value than the non-limited editions?

Sorry man:( but I don't think that's accurate. At least on mine, the only leather is the steering wheel. The only "power" in the seats is the power lumbar only on the driver side. The rest you can tick-off on my window sticker in the limited list. I think the sunroof was an option, but not part of the LTD package.

Sorry. Did the '99 actually come with all that? I only know of the '01-04s. Does she still have her window sticker?

KBB is for trade in value, it starts to lose its effectiveness on older vehicles as time passes by. People always get offended by it, but its not the value of the vehicle, but the worth to a dealer.

Not many dealers accept 15 year old trucks or older now.

Limiteds had nicer seats and chrome handles but color matched bumpers.

I read a few posts in here stating the limited was more commonly bought than others hence the cheaper resale. I find this hard to believe. At least when I bought mine new in '01, they tacked $3495 to the price for the limited package. I seriously doubt that most Tacoma buyers would opt for that extra cost-right? Mine was one of 4 limiteds among dozens of Tacomas at the dealer-most being the SR5s. I did notice though, that many of those SR5s came equipped with Snugtop shells back then, mine did not. I had to buy my own in '03. Throughout the years, I could count on two hands the number of limiteds besides mine I've spotted-we're talking almost 18 years. All I ever see are SR5s.
Bottom line, if the limiteds were more common than others, how come there were only 4 at my dealer?

I think your right.... I almost never see limited 1st Gen tacoma. If there was a lot, more of their seats would be available

Most dealers have a list of people they'd kill for a 1st gen Tacoma in good condition.

I had to beat the dealer off with a stick when I bought my '17 4Runner when they found out I had a TRD doublecab 4x4. They *really* wanted it as a trade in. I told them to F off.
