I’m working on a paper that shows that this Keynesian economy is only still capable of continuing because of the Tacomaworld members.

    Ha ha
Keynesian economy has not been in existence for years. Our economic philosophy has been, the rich just aren’t rich enough. Taco owners in general have never been rich enough have to have their needs addressed though political donations. That’s why they buy Tacos and keep them for years
. The real culprits are those who change top of the line F150 s and POS Rams every three years.
So look elsewhere, not this forum.

Unfortunately in my case I wanted a manual trans so I had to go for a off road...

I wanted v6 and manual. Only option was off road or sport in 4x4 so I got it.

I guess even a truck forum isn’t a safe enough place to make an economics joke.

It’s ok as long as you expect another attempted joke in return. Really, you can’t trust Ram and f150 owners when it comes to economics.:devil:

While I dont have a trd off road. I have a prerunner, that I bought a diffrent third member that had lower gears and also a locker. I wish I had 4x4 and couldn't afford it when I bought the truck eleven years ago but the locker and a/t tires have helped me get to hunting and fishing spots I wouldnt have went to either because of rain or muddy slick roads.
My trucks a 2.7 prerunner and I probably would have gotten a 4x4 by now if I didnt have the locker.
My dad was also about to buy a 2wd off road until I suggested to him to get some take off trd wheels off facebook yardsale. He just wanted the aluminum wheels instead of the steel wheels and just that adds around 1k if you buy them from the dealer.

My truck is pretty similar to a 2wd off road and I get by

IMO, you have a good combination. The 2.7 is much better balanced if you’re going to use it in 2 wd for rougher traveling and you also have the clearance which is as important as any other single factor. . My early 4 cylinder trucks with 2 wd with good tires, were much more capable then some 4 wd models with the v6 and less capable tires. The 2wd with the right tires and balance and clearance are great equalizers over 4 wd jockeys who don’t pay attention to the basics.

I’m glad you got the truck that you wanted. Trim packages don’t really mean a whole lot outside of that.

I wish I had just ponied up the cash 5 years ago and paid the extra ~$40/mo for 4wd when I bought mine new. Been kicking myself ever since.

I’ve said that since I bought my S10 11 years ago. Lots of farm work and muddy fields. My clutch loves to smoke often. Pin it to win it on rainy days at my side job. Lolol 2wd is fun in the snow though.

We had a number of different rigs with different abilities, and even a couple of trailers. There was one broken CV, an overheating, and one guy swapped a radiator at a campground. :D
