The power trains are just fine. They run forever with little maintenance. Now the rusting beds and frames are another story.........

I see the old, square body, 7.3 Power Strokes on the road quite a bit. I assume you're not talking about the 6.OH that resulted in lawsuits.

Mostly the 7.3L Powerstrok used in 1994.5-1997 F250s and F350s, and the 1999-2003 Super Duty trucks. The 6.0L in 2003.5-2006 models to a lesser extent, but only if they've been bulletproofed. The 6.0 has the potential to be damn good engine if cared for and modded properly...

I learned how to drive on a 7.3 Power Stroke that was beat to hell and back. It was a ranch truck with a 5 speed manual. It had 200K plus back then, which was a long time ago. I'd like to find a nice F-350 in that style with the 7.3. Be a cool tow rig.

    What year?

I once found a Powerstroke truck that would probably be the wet dream of most Powerstroke enthusiasts. It was a blue 1996 or 1997 F350 regular cab dually with the manual transmission. It had air-conditioning, and a limited-slip rear differential; Those were the only options, and that's the way it was ordered. I spotted this truck at a fair/festival in Maine, and this was a 1-owner New Hampshire truck. For spending almost two decades in New England, this truck was very nice and remarkably rust-free.

The owner used it to pull his horse trailer, and let me take some pictures which I am currently trying to find...

The one I learned on was a 1995. There wasn't much difference between 94,95,96,97 was there?

I photographed that particular truck in August 2013. My collection of 1992-1997 F350 photos only goes back to August 2014, which means those photos were probably on the hard drive that crashed...

    Not really...

It's just that 1992 through the first half of 1994 had the 7.3L IDI. The naturally-aspirated version of this engine was used from 1984 through 1991 if I remember correctly, and then they redesigned the truck slightly for 1992. 1993-1994 had a hastily turbocharged version of the 7.3L IDI, which was quite problematic...

In mid-1994, they switched to the legendary 7.3L Powerstroke!

Don't got a witty meme, history of owning various trucks or toyota's for ages or none of that, but I have test driven both this and the last gen, both Manual's and never thought they were underwhelming or anything
