I originally wanted the Sport, but fate sent me the OR route, but I like the looks of the hood with skeewp. But then again, I have red TRD valve stem covers..so I'm not the worlds authority on aesthetic taste...!

I'm indifferent between the two. I think the 2nd Gen Sport hood looked better. I made mine semi-functional.

I don't like my scoop hood. It's heavy, and it blocks the view. On the other hand, it doesn't vibrate like the non-scoop ones seem to do.

I thought about replacing it with a non-scoop. But concluded that's not worth the effort.

Meh, these threads always remind me of the buddy that professes to be offended by fake tits.
Then the first time a pair walks by, his eyes are locked on like a pair of tractor beams.

Is the scoop controversy limited to the Sport or does it apply to the Pro as well?

Skeewp envy. More than half the stuff in life serves no purpose except to make you happy. You are better off with a fat girlfriend and a Prius but most don't go that route

Four thousand dollars off was a good enough reason for me. Good place for a killer light bar.

I got the sport because to me it just looks better than the OR. I like the monochrome look. It’s purely personal preference. Many non sport owners on here have a holier than thou attitude toward sport owners. One model isn’t superior to another.

To each their own. To me on a scale of 0-100 where 100 is the best looking truck possible and 0 is a ridgeline, I'd say the hood scoop adds a solid 10 pts over the non scooped models. Idc that it's fake, the fact that it's actually built into the hood and not just a slap on after thought makes it not fake to me. Sure it doesn't provide any mechanical function but it does add to the aesthetics, and that is the hoods function.

    Haters gon hate! :D

I bought the Sport with the scoop because the scoop does serve a function. It keeps the hood from vibrating. A really biggie with me. Besides that I decided that I like it. The scoops on most performance vehicles actually serve no purpose other than aesthetics....goes clear back to the muscle cars of the 1960’s.

Quite simply, because in my opinion, it enhances the overall good looks of the 3rd Gen Tacoma.
And the Sport's scoop does "do something" it functions is as a design element to improve the Tacoma Sport's sporty good looks.

IMO it looks super cool and makes the trucks front end look more aggressive.
