Why does Tacoma come with spring clamps on large hoses?

    Thing is. I don't belong to the 50 year old+ crew as I am still very young myself, but I know my way around an engine and I myself too was a young padawan in front of a monstrous at one point. I do have little tolerance for BS though, much like my elder technicians before me.

    Ok I am lieing, he turned 90 in July and I have never heard him say the F word.

    I have an opinion on spring vs screw clamps, but I'm not about to state it here. I will say this, no matter what type of clamp you use...

    Let's say you are putting on a new radiator hose. Spray with soapy water the fitting, inside the hose, and out side the hose. apply your screw clamp... er I mean your preferred clamp, and tighten properly. This has served me well for many years. The lube of the soapy water lets everything slide and mate (ooooer!) together.

    So there. :)
