I may have, it’s been a while since I was looking at max load va tire pressure tables. The first link I checked today matches the load index that your link has for my tires. Great link, thanks. I went to save it and found I already had it saved, might have got it from one of your previous posts lol.

You were answering a question about Min tire pressures. While those tables tell the max load for the lowest pressure in the table, those who off road at times often go far lower. And as far as the discussion on the thread about what tire pressure to use for normal driving, even your link states on the first page the same thing most tire sites state, refer to the vehicle manufacturers recommendation (door jamb label or manual). Though a caveat would be if you change tire size or type (P vs LT etc).

True...but offroad you're not doing 70-80 mph @ 15-20 psi @ gvwr for prolonged periods of time, if at all. A bit hyperbolic, I know; but gets my point across. This is is where we leave the books behind and rely on common sense.
As an aside, the LT-flotation tables do go down to 25 psi. In my mind, I consider LT-flotations to be more of an offroad tire and LT-metrics to be more of a road tire.

As far as the door placard... Yes, I agree. I've said it many times, any many threads... Post #39 in this very thread.

I just try to present and disseminate the info.
In the end, people do what they want.
It is just my hope they do so with a knowledgeable understanding and common sense, rather than pure instinct.

It's because they go by what the manufacturer suggested which is always high.

Sounds like he is a great tech, they are worth every penny they are paid and hard to come by. I apologize for being somewhat rude.

Well you provide very good information in my opinion. Though my opinion may only be worth a dime or two lol.

Not all, or at least not all used to be. I think Ford got in a load of lawsuits along with Firestone over all the deaths caused when tires blew out. Firestone was recommending 32 psi or something similar and Fords door jamb was 26 psi because they ride better.

    I try...
I'm certainly no expert; I have a day job. That's why I try to present/relay authoritive information. Otherwise, I'm just another dude on the internet, pulling psi numbers out-my-ass.

    ...and people were overloading.
That's why the door placard is now good up to gvwr. I kind of scratch my head when people throw more air in when loaded down or towing.
It's also the reason why P-metric and euro-metric tires are derated for use on trucks and suvs.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
I’ve always wondered this. Each I checkout of the dealer service I waste our time by instruction my service advisor on how to instruct his techs to read the door sticker for my stock tires.
