Why does this seat suck so bad?

I’m 6’3” and I put seat jackers on the front. I don’t have a sunroof so that gives me extra headroom.

Ahh, I got a sunroof but that isn't the problem for me. Its ducking under the roof surround when getting in the truck. I think the running boards gimp my style getting in and out. They serve no purpose for me in helping to get in or out since I'm tall. I gotta step over them. Been debating on removing them but they offer door ding protection from idiots.

OK. 6'5", here - have to do the head bob getting in and out. Have the sunroof, so hair brushes the headliner. Found the seating position too flat - no good support of the thighs, so i did Seat Jackers, and have found things far more livable for distance driving. Also normally have my knees splayed, but that's true in everything I drive.
I guess my only real gripe is the head bob - it's easier to get in and out of my '90 SR5 HiLux!

Gotta say it, im 5'9", 190. These seats suk. My hips hurt if i drive for more then an hr. 63 yo n never had an issue in any car/truk ive owned. That being said, do the jackers work on power seats? My 18 yo frontier is still comfortable. Too many adjustments on the driver seat. I hav a 2020 sr5 drcsb. I have to duck my head to get in my truck. When im in passenger seat my hips hurt. Take quite a few 6 hr drives. Have to stop n do squats to get blood flowing. Hav pondered jackers for a while now. Hate to spend 100$ for nothing.

If you already have to duck your head to get into your Tacoma then seat jackers would just compound that challenge (it sounds like you've adjusted the seat fairly high to get better leg support.) Perhaps someone else familiar with the power seats can chime in.

I have the adjustable power seat and experience all of the problems that others mention with or without power seat.
It is a matter of geometry.
The seat is too short and too flat for some.

I put $40 jackers, "exact dimensions as the others" on the front a few weeks ago. Slightly better leg support but I am still very uncomfortable, and the back of my knees get sore, seriously for days.
To get in a more comfortable position, the seat has to be waaaay back but then I can't reach the top of the steering wheel since it does not adjust very far. In a normal seating position, my knees are almost touching the dash which scares me from a safety standpoint.

With the jackers on, I can only enter the vehicle very strategically. I have to hold the steering wheel with one hand and slide my right leg fully extended in and past the gas pedal to be able to get under the steering wheel at full tilt. If you have long legs it can be a challenge to enter the Tacoma with or without jackers.

OP, I do feel your pain and don't think that a power seat will solve your problem.

Adding 2-4 inches of material to the front of the seat, extending it may solve all problems.
If anyone has done this hack, PLEASE share it!

If you are comfy in your Taco, more power to you!

For reference, I am active, in good shape, have never been uncomfortable in a vehicle and am 6' 185.

you could always take your seats to an upholstery shop and get them to customize them for you. they could add foam for more support.

If you use the front jackers it shouldn't impact head room... I have them in both of my trucks and I'm 6'4" and it hasn't caused me any concerns

That wasn’t my experience. I have a set and am keeping them despite losing a little headroom.

Physiology being involved, I actually would expect a spectrum of experiences with them honestly

Thanks for the input, I'm 6'3 so I know about the head bob. I'm tempted to try the seat jackers

Your truck has an electric seat, correct?

Yes but it doesn't solve it all. I think with me the seat portion is to short for long leggers so you don't get thigh support.

The Tacoma seats are great and have the right mix of back stability and comfort. I came from a frontier and the difference is night and day.

Nice! I might have to get a set for my passenger seat too. I sat in that thing the other day while I was cleaning off the windshield and it felt like I was doing a luge.

Don’t forget to get some Clazzios. Adds to the look and feel of the seats. Add heat warms under the leather. Doesn’t change the position with the jackers but helps
