2016 SR5 DCLB 4x4. Navigation uses data from my iPhone, Bluetooth streams music, phone calls and iMessages. Bought used with 10k miles. Has all the features that I use and gets me to where I need to go. The savings in buying used and an SR5 will go towards a quality lift (Kings/Icon/Fox), sliders, armor, and eventually if I really really need it, an ARB locker. To date, I have a ProTop shell, bed platform, Wildpeak ATW3 265/75/16, tailgate inserts, KnN air filter, tint. LOVE IT!

I have an sr5 4x4 XSP package. Leather interior, flares, xd wheels, steps, etc... I already planned on doin arb front locker in the future, might as well save now and do both later. It will be a while before I do any serious mods to my truck, as in pay it off first..

This was my reasoning. For a small cost increase (comparatively) I got tons of upgrades. Some of which I'll use, some I won't. I really like the smart key, sunroof, auto climate control, and rear locker. Was worth it to make that price jump for me. I see tons of SR5s around town, so they're selling a lot of them too.

Damn that's a good looking truck! have you done any mods to the interior? Whats make you say that about having a SR?

I purchased the SR without knowing much other than I needed a Tacoma for my next truck. I love my truck but the only thing that bothers me is that i didn't get the light up dash cluster... & trip odometer reader.

I love my SR , The only option that I really miss is keyless entry. Having to unlock the door with the key is a little too old school but I'm learning to live with it and I will eventually get the remote.

Got it... See but that's an easy fix. I did my old Honda at an audio place for $60 total. I would call around and get estimates.

Honest question, how many people buy the 4x2?! isn't that a little weird for a truck?

This has been beat to death around here.

There are plenty of folks who need the utility of a light pick up truck that don't need to drive it off-road.

There are also plenty of folks that bought a 4x4 aspirationally and rarely use it. These seem to be the biggest critics of 4x2 owners. (they have to justify their purchase)

I have a 4x2. I have 0 use for a 4x4. I don't go off roading. Truck sees the desert shooting ranges and hauls all my gear just fine. I guess I could be like most of the people on here and get a 4x4 to crawl over the parking blocks at the mall.

I'm sure some person with a car would say your 4 x 2 truck is overkill they have zero use for a 4 x 2 truck when they're Subaru does everything. and it goes on and on and on. That's why they make many different vehicles for many different people

if they made the sr5 in manual sign me up. Too bad they don't so I'm gonna be going with an offroad without the tech package.

I really like the look of the sr5's without the appearance package. No fender flares looks really clean IMO

4 x 2 Limited. I do not rock crawl, rarely do I take it off the pavement, it is my DD, I have need to haul plastic (money) to several different stores and "stuff" back home from the stores. The wife's Kia just does not have the cargo space for fence materials, concrete, cinder bricks, shrubs, trees ......

As far as the wife and I are concerned, my taco is a very nice luxury vehicle that allows us the room to carry all the stuff we want to haul. Frankly, FL is pretty flat so unless I decide to act younger than my years and go play in the sand, I realy don't need more than 2 drive wheels.

That said, if I ever move closer to or north of the Mason Dixon line I will swap to a 4 x 4. Hopefully before winter shares ice and snow.

I had an SR5 02 2wd tundra and put that baby through some stuff in the woods in FLA sandy roads for a number of years. I prayed I could get out of the stuff without getting stuck a few times. This time I have a 4x4 so I do not have to worry about it anymore.

Yep I completely agree. In my post I was not bashing on 4x4. Only responding to the previous posters comment of a non 4x4 being weird for a truck.

My comment about most of the users on here having 4x4 and never using it I strongly believe stands true however.
