RC 3" Leveling kit on 265/75R16. Riding on 285/75R16 now. The 2.7 is pretty gutless, but once you learn to drive it it's not bad. If you maintain them, it will serve you for many many miles.

I just bought 17 access cab SR5 4x4 and love it. No need for a fake hood scoop and decals for me. Or any of the other stuff that comes with a TRD. Saved me a few grand. Tell a salesman what model, color, and trim you want and they should locate it for you. If not go to another dealer.

@Mike G, I've had your album truck pic open in Chrome for about 3 months, just to remind me how nice the setup looks. Now this pic? WTF man. Reeeally wanted to wait until the stock tires wore out a little, but I drive so little they're likelier to dry rot first. At least I know what I'm doing when I pull the trigger. Looks good man.

I have the 2017 TRD Sport, DCSB, I like the looks (Yeah, even my fake hood Scoop!) and the Int. Amenities... Nav, JBL, Sunroof, and the truck has been good so far. People rag me about taking the Quicksand Color, but I hope we will all get the same reliability from these third generation trucks that all those first and second generation rigs have given all of you loyal Toyota enthusiasts. We've had six Yodas in our family over the years, and they have all been good cars. I liked our Volvo too and we kept it for 17 years. If my Taco lasts that long, it'll probably take me to my freeking grave! I'll be 79 by then! YIKES!

My SR5. Felt no need for the TRD packages, but found the SR slightly too low-tech.

I love my SR5!!! TRD is Too expensive when you're gonna change the suspension anyway. GPS- Phone, do I need to know the angle of a hill I am climbing-no, stereo works great, can I attach a tow strap to a buddy-yes. Couldn't justify TRD financially. With the suspension and the labor to install I am at the price of a stock TRD. Including wheels and tires!!

Is "serious offloading" code for wanking?

I got the OR because it had 3 pedals and a locker... that I use pulling a 6100lb boat trailer up steep, slippery ramps. I suppose you could call a boat ramp "off road" though so I'm totally legit.

If the SR had a manual with the V6 and a tow package I'd probably have bought one and swapped in better suspension on my own - but I do really like the OR's damping on rural dirt roads. And the locking diff is the tits for crawling the boat out of the lake. It wasn't wasted money IMO.

It’s funny because the SR5 used to be the top model in the 80’s and early 90’s. Now it’s almost entry level. I believe Toyota should make the current SR5 the SR and the TRD off road and sports the SR5 and TRD Pro should be the TRD off road.

But I’m not on marketing so I don’t know anything.

    I had a black 2016 sr5 TSS.

It was cool but I had tons of problems so Toyota bought it back andown I got the 2017 sport.

Nothing wrong with it to me except the same issues many others have had on all taco models...

Yeah the shocks sacked but it would have been a easy fix.
