You are correct. I had a 17 SR access cab in a manual. However, we just had our second child and the access cab wasn’t going to cut it anymore. Had to trade for a double cab. And you can’t get a double cab SR in a manual.

Different breaking system? Are you sure that isn't for the towing package?

Also nice job on the P&T, I kinda wish I had that on mine. Definitely worth it on the OR tho to get rid of the chrome bumper (which I hate, but does look good with black)

Not a sophisticated Taco observer, but I think the SR5 is cool. It’s just about right in every sense. Owned 2 of them before buying an OR today. Did that because I wanted to do something different at this point. Here they were today at the dealership. My son will now have the ‘15 magnetic grey. The ‘10 will go to some luckyA9C011CC-21BB-40C2-84D0-01E0AC54C6DA.jpg customer.

I do love my access cab 5spd manual. There WAS a SR DCSB v6 MT, but it was only fleet order. There's been a couple sightings of used trucks in that configuration posted on here.

My dealer told me that he had an SR5 DCSB come through with a manual. I didn’t believe him at the time, but maybe the same deal

I bought an OR and now I’ve thrown away most of the OR stuff. I do like the locker and the bigger rear axle. Crawl control and mts are a joke along with that damn vsc. But I like to run over rocks. My second gen was an sr5 and did fine. Just my .02

Yes, everything except the off-road and trd pro have a vacuum brake booster. The off-road and trd pro have an electric brake booster because of the crawl control.

Hilarious how many dealers don't know their own products. Brought mine in for service and the guy said "wow, I've never seen one of these trucks in a manual!" I wanted to say "go outside to your lot, you've got 3 sitting out there" but I actually said "Oh really?"

Those of you with stick shifts...taking them to track day or the strip? Feel one with the truck? I drove a 95 Nissan RC 5 speed 4 banger for 10 years said never again. It was the only new truck I could afford at the time. Aside from the actual "push to start" I don't see the attraction. Especially a commuter in hilly environments

During my recent Tacoma purchase, I was set on buying a SR trim, but moved up to a SR5 primarily to get a V6 and towing package. After selecting the SR5 trim, the dealer agreed to a deal on a TRD Off Road for just $500 more than the price of the SR5 trim, which was well worth it in my opinion. If not for the dealer’s offer, I would have happily taken home a SR5.

I should have shopped where you shop. You’re coming along with me to haggle next time I decide to buy another veichle. Which will be a Taco of course...

I’m no expert. The SR5 had a handful of options that drove up its price to within $1,200 of the TRD Off Road. Carpet floor mats was the only option on the TRD Off Road. Instead of charging me the full $1,200, the dealer agreed to take $500. It probably helped that this occurred on the 28th of the month.

A Tacoma to the track?

The 3rd gen is lower geared than the automatics making it ideal for towing. A stick makes the truck more utilitarian which is what I want. Besides I've had one too many automatics leave me on the side of the road.

I haven't looked in a very long time but isn't the OR only $1-2k more than the sport? You saying you can get a locking diff, Bilsteins, and crawl control for $1-2k?

Are you comparing an SR5 to the TRD twins?
