LOVE IT I haven't had any issues with the wireless CarPlay connecting. A couple quirks: 1) if you turn the engine/power off and then on again within a minute or so it takes like twice as long for CarPlay to connect, but it still does eventually 2) after turning the power on, if you shift to reverse too quick (within a couple seconds) the rear camera sometimes doesn't come on and 3) (which isn't the headunit's fault) once CarPlay connects you'll lose your wireless connection to your house in the driveway—we have terrible cell reception at our house so once my home wifi disconnects I have to drive for a minute or so before I get a signal, so if I need the internet for anything (like driving directions) I have to make sure I get them before I turn the radio on, or wait until I get a cell signal.

Just ordered my alpine ilx207. Combination of being on vacation + alcohol = :spending:. Plus new deal at crutchfield that includes a backup cam and cable included along with the usual stuff. I'll install the hu when it comes and the camera after my frame swap next month or so.

You do know that the 207 doesn't do wireless carplay?

Yeah don't care. Or I don't think I care. If I don't like it crutchfield will return it and I'll get a 107 if its real a problem but I don't think it will be.

Will the iLX-107 show Google Maps on the screen? Or does it only work with Apple Maps?

How long did it take to install? THinking about putting it my 2015, haven't swapped a head unit before. Wondering if I should take it to a shop.

Just hooked mine up with the maestro kit and harnesses. Everything works flawlessly. Would recommend to upgrade a 3rd gen. Does anyone know after you hook up the GPS with an adapter, does carplay google maps use the built in gps or the phone gps?

Cellphone, just like using your phone’s google maps.

No, my gen 2 doesn't have built in GPS. I'm just saying carplay and google maps uses your phone's google maps, not the local GPS. You delete google maps off your phone, google maps is gone from carplay.
