I know him from SLC punk. He seemed like an older brother type. Now he’s like an almost grandfather type.

Sounds like fake news since remote starts have bypasses so they only work in neutral and with the e-brake engaged.

Nope, I'll try to find it if I can. I forget the exact circumstances because it was years ago but he certainly did not have it set to only start with the ebrake engaged.

Edit: found it, he was a moron and bypassed the safety when he installed it. https://mustangforums.com/forum/200...drove-my-car-into-a-pond-fmylife-updated.html

The best thing about push to start? Not having that big-ass key stabbing me in the pills whenever I'm moving around at work.

I used to think that it was a useless feature before I got it. Now i'm on team lazy-button all the way. No fumbling through my pockets when I got a grocery bag in one hand and a sixer in the other. Just walk up, touch the doorhandle and the shit unlocks. Thats legit. No more parking lot party fouls or dropped pizzas when unlocking. Theres no dropping or losing keys anymore either. The fob goes from the bowl on the dresser to my pocket to the bowl on the dresser. (unless I'm going hiking or biking, then its bowl, camelbak, bowl.) I dont think about it in between. Don't have to.

Lazy? Fuck yeah it is. So is sitting on the couch with a remote control and not getting up to twist the VHF knob like a man. So's using a phone to calculate my tip at the restaurant instead of using my head like the smart people do. That doesn't make it any less awesome though.

I actually really don't like that I have push start. Something just feels so good about putting a key in the ignition and turning it till the engine comes to life.

Oh absolutely. The thread is actually a little funny, apparently the guy thought it was all Ford's fault that, despite him wiring it incorrectly and not telling them it had remote start.

Specifically for a 4x4 truck, the idea is that you can use the keyed ignition in combination with the "clutch start cancel" switch to move the truck using the starter and battery. This doesn't match up with the functionality of a push button start, where a short press gets you ??? and a long press gets you some different ??? (IDK, I have a manual).

If you plan ahead there is no fumbling around, after I pay for my groceries I put my key on my finger then pick up my bags and head to the truck, no issue.

Silly me, thought clutch start cancel was so you could start the truck to run a winch without having to climb back in. Hmm, key or button, you still have to do something. Push button start just means you can leave your key in your sock.

Do you really need a v6 tacoma?
If you’re like me and you drive up to get your mail but there’s a lock on your mail box then I would rather take out the key in my pocket or where ever I put them instead of taking the key out of ignition.

Toyota does put it in certain models such as the IA just FYI. Just not tacos.

That’s an amazing post. If your other 3 are just as awesome, you’re off to a good start.

I doubt I want anymore key chains especially one that detaches. My mustang car key only has my key fob and the house key because I always bring my main car key with me that has everything.

Good Lord, man. How do you pocket that pile? Also, how does that not drag across your knee like a limp fish whenever you change lanes? That would annoy the piss out of me.
