Want nothing fancy, BUT better have a damn push start o_O. Nah, I like my MT and I like that is has a key. On wifey's new Subie, we opted to have a key vs posh start. It took some "features" away, but she liked the key. You know, nothing fancy.

Nothing to and bout just showing you how I place my keys when I drive my push to start car. I mean if you want I can show you where I put my keys in my venza also lol.

What do you mean by stolen? Any key in general can be stolen, or am I missing something?

To each there own :) I am fine with having a key but the s550 is a manual and has a push to start and I was wondering why cant toyota do that on the tacoma. That was my first question and I am going to guess I will never get a straight answer.

One day keyless start will be obsolete...and then you’ll want for keyless start...I heard they’re coming out with nipple recognition start activation :fingerscrossed:

Where do you put your keys when you park the vehicle and exit it?

It has been mentioned several times but the Tacoma has a Clutch Cancel Switch allowing you to use the key to ride the starter out of a jam, your S550 does not have a setup like that.

Couldn't they have the same function with a button? Push clutch cancel switch, hold down start button. I think it's more likely that Toyota assumes people who don't want an automatic probably don't want push button start either.

But Toyota already makes Manuals with Push Button Start too, they just don't have the Clutch Cancel Switch... Nissan also offers a Manual with a Clutch Cancel Switch and it is paired to a Keyed ignition too.

    No, seriously.

In 5 years if someone finds the keys to your truck, then discovers it's a manual, it may make world news.

Wife's new CRV has a start button, I was skeptical at first. I really like it after getting used to it. I'm old enough to remember when you didn't need a key to start Chevy's, unless the ignition switch was left in 'lock' position.
MT Tacoma's will get a button start eventually, it'll be right beside the 'take it out of 1st gear' button, next to the 'I can't park for shit' button...
