Why don't I have trans dip stick

I have a 2001 Tacoma 2.4l 4cyl and I was trying to look for a dip stick to see if I will need to do a transmission service soon but I cant find mine. Any suggestions

 

Noted my buddy has a auto limited and his is in plain sight, and I'm a manual and didn't see one to be found

Your truck comes from the factory with a fill tube and level indicator

its on the drivers side to the rear of the engine kinda low so the manifold hides it but if you look down there you will see it.

it has a catch clip on it that is part of the pull handle so you need to lift out on the little catch to "unlock" it so it slides out.

its dark in color so its very easy to miss until you know where it is
