There were other Tacoma forums back in the early 2000s. Tacoma World was not the only place to talk about Tacomas in the history of the world.

Outsourcing every part and moving manufacturing from Japan to San Antonio and Tijuana is a bad mix.Japan is known for their highly skilled ,experienced work force. You can't replicate the workforce that built the Toyota brand in Tijuana.

Toyota really went for the jugular with the Tacoma to radically cut cost and it's showing in the build quality.

Yeah. Biggest of all would be spending 60K on something I'd sell for 20k 4 years later!

    Too much to list!
Of course there was, that's where I saw all the complaining back in 2005. Back in 1995, I worked in and around a Toyota Dealer to see all the issues with the 1st gen.

Thank you, l was just going to bring this up. Back when the 2nd Gen came out over on TTORA there were 2 main complaints, 1 was guys thought it was too big and the other was guys did not like the squared off fenders.

Seriously? ?? i searched for a while before buying the truck, design is good, power is enough for me, then i realize the stock parts are so fxxking expensive. i don't know why. I found trd grille can get for 100 in china. well. American trucks not suit for me.

I know this is part of your schtick, but I gotta disagree, to a point.

My 17 auto mexican built Tacoma has been far more trouble free than my japanese built 08 FJ was at the same point. I think what's put in the truck matters way more than where its put together.

Yeah....I'd nuke that and ask anyone who's quoted it to do the same. That might not fly in the current TW's more sensitive environment

Complete Kicker audio system (4 channel amp, mids and tweets in the front, 2 ways in the back, 2 10 inch comp rt subs, Zxsum8, alpine pdx 1.600 boxes and amp rack by Mr Marv), Pop & Lock, Mobtown locking bed storage doors, Bilstein 5100s, Katzkin Leather interior, Redline Hoodstruts, Backflip.
I've had a couple of issues that have been resolved. It was low on transmission fluid, I've had both TSBs done for the weird shifting and it was part of the recall for the rear end (no leaking here and I'm at over 10k). I have always loved my truck and plan on driving it for a very long time. It is really naive to think that a vehicle will have zero issues, especially a new generation of the model. OP needs to stop rehashing old shit and move on, it's all been said before.
