    Sorry this sucks;
Every new buyer should be armed with one very important piece of information- The sales folks know little to nothing, and just say "yeah yeah yeah" to get the sale.

So, last update on this one...I reached out to the GM, he got back to me, and they're going to refund me for the mud flaps...I appreciate their accommodating, but it would have been more pleasant if I had received that response to begin with. The dealership is now off my s@*t list. :)

When I bought my fifth generation 4Runner it was during the Toyota floormat fiasco, and the dealer had removed the NEW floor mats from the vehicle, even though they were the new non recalled type that did not fall under the recall. I pointed this out so they threw in a set of the old style Toyota floor mats from their recall pile which were not compatible with the new twist style anchors.

I told them these were the wrong kind, they just kind of looked at me like I’m supposed to drop the old floor mats onto the anchors and have a lumpy floor.

Eventually they promised to send me a NEW set of floor mats so I wound up with two sets of 2012 floor mats for a 2013 truck with the twist lock anchors.

This was also the dealership who threatened to repossess my truck 2 years after I received the title in the mail for not making my payments to a company I’ve never heard of.

Too much goofiness going on at Toyota dealerships for me to consider purchasing a new Toyota. Maybe one day that will change.

Can you post a pic of your truck? Does it not have ANY flares? My 09 2.7 sr 4x4 has black flares (which I prefer over colour matched).
I've often wondered if a 5 lug bed and front fenders would fit with skinny tires as I'd prefer no plastic and i run 215 width tires.

    Zero chance.

They would have to look in the brochure.

If it’s a 23, correct. In order to get 4WD, the 3.5 is required.

That's one way...Two hours roundtrip, for the sole purpose of proving a set of $70 mud flaps don't fit?

Yes, hour there hour back is 2 hours. 70 dollars, drive back and show them or move on. Not worth the time and effort then. Do you have a pic of how big the gap is?

Nice! Good outcome! I have reluctantly had to go this route in the past a couple of times over the years at dealerships. I have an acquaintance that was a GM at one store in a huge conglomerate of multiple brands in my area. (some are multiple stores of one brand (from Kia to Rolls-Royce and Ferrari) When a situation like this one happens where a customer that just took delivery of a brand-new, very expensive vehicle (aren't they all now?) leaves unhappy for a legitimate reason and he gets a call: let's just say: he gets very "animated". (and the issue gets resolved....quickly) He keeps the big-man happy and the big-man pays him a very good living to control the troops. The dealer mud-flap guy would be told: "take the deal, get a tracking number and the customer better have a refund check at his door before the box of mud-flaps arrives here. Capeesh?

Yeah, it's kind of like a shell. The rear section wraps to conform to the flare. They seem to be very well constructed however. The Weathertech's I ordered (had them on my '17 SR) are solid, and are of equal or better quality, and you'd never know they weren't OEM. They're nearly twice as expensive as the OEM flaps though, but aftermarket is the only option for the flare-less Tacoma's.

That's a nice looking truck. Please don't tell me the steps/rock bars/whatever were installed at the dealer: or worse: at the port. My head will explode.

What a mess: not even close. I'd love to be there when they try to explain that one off... Especially in front of the GM. :smack:

I literally just realized that US shouldn't use liters for displacement.... lol. After all these years.
    Ya'll are imperial.

Maybe that's why the dealershipa don't understand!?

The old school cubes are better ? What's the mini van motor in cubic inches?

For no apparent reason the only time we use the non-American system of measurement is to quantify engine displacement.

It was weirder on old cars where they weren’t sure if to spell it LITER or LITRE and to be safe and avoid confusion we went with L.

Just how many quarts of oil does a 2.7 L engine need anyway?
