Except for alignments, nobody touches my truck... PERIOD!... There is nothing a shop can do that I can't, and I feel better knowing that it is done correctly the first time...

They installed my friends winch and ARB bumper. Fried his alternator because for some reason, they grounded the winch instead of running the negative to the battery... Someone must've needed the copper

    think I read about that...

I enjoy wrenching on my truck so no one has ever touched it in 6 years besides one tech who swapped my starter out when I tried to get it warranted by Toyota but failed. Something about the truck having 300# of mud on it.

body or suspension lift on the TJ? I haven't heard a lot of negative feedback from 4wheel Parts before. Even though a couple of my buddies have taken their trucks there, it makes me nervous about taking mine. Guess I'll look for another shop for comparison. You'd think 4 wheel Parts would know what they are doing... Maybe I should just grin and bear the pain and just do it myself.

Kinda off topic, but I found it interesting that you replaced your grille with the lexus emblem... Obviously Toyota makes Lexus but have you seen the interior of Toyota's versus Lexus's? LOL

Check your paperwork when you get the install done. 4WheelParts has a disclaimer usually on all suspension work that when you sign it, you agree not to hold them liable for anything that happens to you or your truck, that is not a direct result of workmanship issues. Meaning that if a bolt breaks, you can't sue them if you get crippled.

See now you have listed a reasonable excuse for not wanting to do the work yourself. I can buy that. But for many people they like the idea of doing the work themselves, and having the pride that goes with it. $300 or $3000 of savings can add up. Some people are willing to do the work in their garage, even if it means it will be a pita.

Sounds like one of my customers that bought a Stage 2 Kit from me. 4WheelParts ground his winch to the frame instead of the battery. Melted his small ground wire from the frame to the engine block.

To save money, it's not that hard and my truck is a 2010 so I wanted to do touch up painting on the frame, axles, and brakes. If down the line I and a cap I will beable to do the AAL....

    What most everyone else said.

Plus, it's awful when you tackle a new job and have to buy some new tools. Just awful.
