Why is it so hard to find a bumper to hang a winch off of?

I have a 2007 Tacoma PreRunner that I’ve owned since 2011. As it is rear wheel drive I don’t intentionally take it off road but do occasionally find myself in odd situations where I get hung up or stuck. Self recovery is my goal. I’m looking for a bumper or a way to modify my existing bumper to hang a winch off of it. I figure a winch like Warn or Smittybilt but finding these has been difficult. Maybe I’m looking in the wrong place. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated?

This is the one I have and love it. I got lucky tho and snagged one off fleabay years ago for $150. This one just replaces your stock aluminum bumper crossmember with a steel cross member and gives mounting location for the winch. Cutout a rectangle in the plastic bumper cover for your fairlead. Started the install at 8am and was done before lunch.

Wow thanks for sharing that link! I didn't know that something like that was available. I also want to mount a winch without having a big steel bumper to carry it with.

 

That was my main reason for getting this style. It adds minimal weight and looks factory.
