So i recently purchased lights to change the color of my gauges on my '04 taco and changed the lights fine but the color is still orange. Could this be because the color is hard wired into the circuit board of the truck? Does anyone have an idea?

Hmmmm, I'm not sure about the 1st gens but the 2nd gens you had to swap out all the LED's in order to change the background color.

Could the orange caps still be around the bulb or maybe stuck in the cluster??

That is wierd... bc the gauge cluster isnt orange permanently, just little orange condoms on the lights... so the only way this happened is if the orange condoms are stuck in the cluster, or you put the orange condoms on your new lights..... or replaced the wrong lights
