Santa Cruz bikes are discounted 25-40% RN.

Trucks are getting bigger and more tech bloated. Props for Toyota for not making huge size changes between 2nd and 3rd gen.

Can’t wait until they introduce a car based shitbox truck like the Maverick because midsize trucks are as big as full size trucks from a few years back.

Because you used the increased price of aluminum as a justification for a price increase?

Yet you’re arguing against yourself now because when aluminum prices dropped significantly you’re now saying “why would they decrease it”?

Raw materials are clearly a factor for pricing but there is a lot more to it. I don’t think Toyota will keep as close to msrp on 4th gen’s as they did on 3rd gen’s. They will have to discount their egregious asks

Is there going to be people who can buy these trucks. Locally UPS is cutting sorting operations, which sounds like union jobs are on the line. The few folks I know in construction say things are slow, but UPS cutting jobs is a very good indicator of where the economy is heading. Ole brown does have a lot of competition with Amazon and FedEx Ground. This is after UPS relinquished its UPS Freight division a few years ago. I doubt if they will be spending a lot on alternative fuel vehicles at this point.

Question is why can't Toyota be more competitive with GM's Colorado and Canyon twins - which are built using U.S. labor and not much cheaper Mexican labor.

Why can't Toyota pass their cost savings on to the consumer? That NFL sponsorship can't be cheap,Toyota has to pay their influencers. All this advertising is costing the Toyota buyer unnecessary expense.

Make a good enough product, advertising sort of becomes redundant. I get that Toyota has shareholders to please. I don't ever see MSRP's ever going downward. If anything some year they stay flat, but I doubt it.

Tesla makes the best selling vehicle in the world with $0 spent on advertising.

Toyota probably got offered a deal they couldn't refuse. I see the TRD stuff is now being branded as TRD Performance.

The Canyon and Colorado are both built in Wentzville, Missouri.

One can never have too many light bars.
St. Louis Federal Reserve is the data GOAT. No other Federal Reserve branch even comes close with the availability and useability of data. Alexander Hamilton at least got one thing right.

Thanks. Looks like Tesla does spend money on marketing.

"Tesla spent $151,947 on advertising in the U.S. in 2022, according to advertising intelligence firm Vivvix, which measured ads across places including TV, social media, Web banners and billboards. By comparison, Ford and Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T), opens new tab spent $370 million and $1.1 billion, respectively, while the brands of General Motors Co (GM.N), opens new tab collectively spent a total of $1.35 billion on U.S. ads last year, Vivvix data showed."

Does this include the amounts that individual dealerships have spent too? I would imagine that number is exceptionally high if you take into account all the regional ads.

Teslas ceo constantly tweets shit about Tesla to millions of people how is that not marketing? He also bought one of the biggest social media companies where tons of people constantly tweet about how great Tesla is. It’s non stop marketing really no different than anywhere else. I also keep getting Tesla spam text messages also …

I love how he is ALWAYS pissing off the exact type of people he wants to buy Teslas.

My nutty, neighbors, who have red white and blue Teslas were literally complaining about what they should do if he continues being so “irresponsible.”

The “exact people” already have 2 or more teslas. He is targeting the rest now. Once again with his “brilliant marketing”
