    @FawkQ was mentioning Canada's reason for not having a Diesel engine in Tacomas, and I was curious about the details of those reasons.

    Nope. We have regen systems on our diesels at work because of emissions. It's the biggest pos there is out there.

    a buddy of mine bought a second gen tacoma with a blown engine and did a diesel swap. also swapped from auto to manual transmission. Was pretty freaking sweet. Anything is possible with enough effort

    I was just saying I agree with you. If they wanted to bring one here they would but, they don't. I've heard that the D4D wouldn't live up to the power that the American public demands out of vehicles here.

    There's a company that does that by sourcing side totaled hilux's overseas.. for the small price of 30k.. but they do a pretty thorough job from what I read on their site. Can't remember the name.

    There's a build thread on here from a guy that lives in Thai and he loves the thing from everything I've read. He did say parts were a little more scarce for modding tho

    Did you know overseas you can buy a Factory Denso snorkel for a hilux? Why didn't they make that option available here? Toyota is losing out on TW without that mod available in the states.

    I think personally it would have plenty of power. I think it's just an excuse to not import them.

    Dude the 1gd now makes 175hp/335ft#'s that sounds pretty healthy for a truck this size so you know the lack of performance spiel is a pile of shit.
