I have yet to run into anyone that was recording us that wasn't taunting us. Seriously, they turn their camera on and all the sudden have gonads. Don't be a tool an you won't have problems. Its my favorite when people have their cameras on and keep asking the cop about evey little god damn law. There are a shit ton of laws. They don't know them all off the top of their head. Then guy with camera posts video on YouTube trying to make officer look stupid. When what could have happened was, be straight up with te cop and take the warning or ticket like a man. Even better, when drunk asshole throws a punch at a cop, cops fucks up drunk guy. Just so happens that jolly citizen starts recording after guy swings, right before cops retaliate. That could get cops in trouble. See my point? LEO and FF have a hard enough job, makes it worse when people are out to "protect themselves". Is any of this sinking in?

Yes, I understand what you are saying. I don't encounter police often and have never even thought about recording it, but I have heard a few horror stories and it makes a person concerned. But as per your last part, is it really such a horrible thing if people are trying to just protect themselves (without being complete dicks of course).

Well aren' you just full of ignorance huh? Someone makes one mistake and gets a negative encounter with police and all of a sudden they are criminals? That's such a degrading thing to just judge the shit out of someone because they have made one wrong move. 2 great people I know are both felons, know why? Same thing happened to both of em, their girlfriends were fucking hitting them and punching them and all they did was shove the girl away and she pressed charged and bam, felony. But of course both of them got felonies so they must be just criminal scum, the dirt of society huh?

Winch, front hitch, step bars, bed extender, bed step, gull-wing toolbox, tailgate lock, security system, cb radio, etc.
Thats' not true. The oft cited cases behind this myth (Warren v. District of Columbia and Castle Rock v. Gonzales) addressed only liability (lawsuits seeking money). In each, courts ruled police have no legal obligation (law, contract, etc) requiring them to pay money if they somehow fail to protect an individual. That doesn't extend further to any implication that police will not protect individuals. It's their job (the obligation you say doesn't exist) and they do so on a fairly routine basis.

That's what he very specifically implied in one of his threads! Yikes. Isn't that illegal, recording your wife without her knowledge? Someone call a cop.

He didn't say "all felons are criminals" even though that's true... he said people that hate LEO's are criminals. And for the most part, I agree. Its sad what happened to your friends, but its not the cops fault. Blame the DA for pressing charges and the judge who convicted them. The officers were just doing their jobs. And yes, there is no reason to hate cops unless you break the law.
