the nissan's engine is an award winning engine, there have been many cases of timing chains tensioners going out but nissan has since fixed that issue, the tacoma outguns the frontier because the frontier has the 30 mph throttle restriction. if you think the frontier looks ugly well then thats your opinion i can't help that as i think the tacomas look hidious with them wheel wells and them big headlights but other then that i like the tacoma.

over on the fronier forum there is someone with nothing but bolt ons and an uprev tune pushing i think 260 to the wheels then there is a member but an sts turbo xterra pushing 350 hp to the wheels using an uprev tune and stock injectors, the vq40 is a good engine and can withstand abuse, from what i heard on toyota engines they can't take abuse and break under stress also heard of sludge issues with certain toyota engines

yea its a 4.0, but like i said there is some operator error or one seriously messed up truck on that dyno. 98 hp loss.....no way.

Fact is, your post was mis-informative (if that is even a word), you stated the taco has way more power and it doesn't, even if the power was the same your info is wrong. and the suspension is way better, its not...same setup (trust me i've had both tore apart to put my lifts on), mcpherson front struts, leaf's rear...bilsteins available on both. the tacoma is a few hundred lbs lighter. and the height difference is minimal. the tacomas look like they sit higher but its really not that much different.

I've owned a 08 4.0 frontier have you? There is nothing worse than someone talkin shit about stuff they don't know.

I'm done in the internet pissing contest.

Never heard of a 1GR-FE breaking,....But I have seen how the Nissan engines can put down some good numbers with some bolt ons. There is a handfull of folks pushing 350 hp to the wheels in their Tacos with an SC. URD has an SC that gives 400 to the tires, but Im not sure anyone is running one yet.

I never said the Taco has "Way more power".......Nor did I say anything about the suspension.... Perhaps you should go back and read the post your talkign about, and see who wrote it.

And No...I havent owned an '08 Frontier.....After 3 transmissions in my last Nissan truck, you cant pay me to own another. BUT...I have a buddy that has an '07 "Nismo" Fronty. He's the one that got the 205 hp reading on the dyno we use.
