Honestly, I can understand someone doing this on a street model, but if they offroad, it is a really bad idea for several reasons, like getting it rock damaged, more heat buildup (especially under armor plating), higher potential of touching off grass fires, more stuff to break and rot, and improvised clearance.

The first mod I did was dual exhaust. Magnaflow muffler and tips. All the pipes are 1.25 and and all custom bent. I like the looks and on my last Tacoma I had dual exhaust. Don’t do it for the performance just like the looks. This goes for my other vehicles. Flowmaster was a little too loud for me, the Magnaflow with the 1.25 pipes were as close to quite as I could get. There is a drone but nothing loud or a problem on road trips. That was the first thing I noticed, did not have to crank up the radio to hear over the drone.

i mostly agree... what you need under the truck is clearance and performance. nothing extra.

Agreed with the Les capability when using truck off-road. Plus it takes up space for other things to be run. I will probably be adding a large 18 gallon tank for store water to be used in a pump system for showering/cleaning water, under my truck, in the future so extra space will be nice

18 gals? Well, that’s one way to offset taco lean! Haven’t heard of mounting it under the truck, is that another topic at some other post? (Sorry OP, I had to ask but will stop with that).

Because all Tacoma (truck v6's in general) exhausts sound like crap :)

They drone and have terrible rumbles. The louder, the worse it is.

Ok, one issue- what if you pop it, or something happens to the valve or hose or some jerk pulls the cork? I like having reserves stored here and there in the truck myself for safety’s sake, as we are often too far from help to walk out safely in the desert heat. It looks very well built but it’s just too vulnerable I think.

As for dual exhaust, you definitely wont be doing it with that water tank!
