Why is Toyota not currently making FJs? With Wranglers just absolutely everywhere, it seems Toyota would want a piece of that market share.

Seems like they sell pretty well, a few years ago we were lucky to find an unwind sale or would have had to wait 5 months til the next model year release because there wasn't a new one left on any lot in the western US

No, I haven't heard that. I'd just love to see a direct competitor to the Wrangler and the FJ has the lineage to do it.

cause Toyota is stupid and doesn't like progress. Just look at the 3 gen they really did not innovate. it is more like 2.5 gen.

Yes! What's the most off road capable vehicle Toyota offers? Land Cruiser? That new concept vehicle was pretty ridiculous.

When Toyota announced the FJ originally, they said then that it would only be made for a limited number of years. And even at that, Toyota did make them for about 3 or 4 years LONGER then the original plan.

Our 2012 is our 3rd vehicle and we only put around 5k a year on it, wonder if the value will hold due to scarcity of inventory since the truck is no longer manufactured....

I heard that Toyota didn't loose any sales from discontinuing the FJ, that the 4Runner sales increased because of it, and that increase made up the difference.
Could be true, or might not be true, but you do see a lot of 4runners on the road.

    Workin' on it....
Personally I was never fond of the FJ interior - I felt it was too plasticky in an unflattering sort of way. But if they revamped the interior I'd be game.....even moreso with a solid front axle.

Toyota sold what they produced....but nothing more. Small production #s sync'd with very modest sales. Sometimes limited availability is not necessarily demand out pacing supply
