everything is made to get sales. Pro still has a purpose. Out of all of the Tacoma’s, Pro is the best and most off road capable. This is not subjective or arguable.

I love all the guessing. Someday my dream will come true and a Toyota rep will drop in and blow our minds.

"Well, actually, we didn't make it in a double cab because we just didn't want to have to make a pro interior for the back seat"

2nd gens didn't even offer TRD OR DCLB. You wanted a long bed DC, you had to get a Sport or a SR5.

The reason that was discussed for that (by owners) was that the LB wheelbase made it less desirable off road

I assume 3rd gens now offer the OR in DCLB due to some demand, though IMO it's both ungainly looking and subpar off road.

I doubt Toyota wants their flagship Tacoma off road model to be getting stuck on parking stops at the mall, SB gives shorter wheelbase and better breakover angle for that sort of crawling scenario!

Which, as owners, is actually a pretty good deal. We get better products developed, low depreciation, a ton of aftermarket accessories.

They do make lift kits to alleviate that breakover angle argument. Longer wheelbase is far superior for steep hill climb/decent = FACT. Less chance of the truck tipping with LB. SB trucks can't fit a 20" bicycle in the back without dropping the tailgate. Lastly, can anyone here name a trail where a SB made it up, but LB didn't? I'll wait...

They do DCSB Automatics and I believe they recently added DCLB's too. All Access Cab, Manual Trans, Pro, and Canadian Models are made in Texas.

Toyota manufactures roughly 5,000 Tacoma Pro’s per year. 100% of them are assembled in San Antonio, Texas.

I thought it was a decent tire but the tread life was total shit. At 20K it was done.

The only part here that is accurate is about the bicycle. And that they make lift kits.

What I really want is a off-road access cab in manual. If that existed in the states I’d be trading tomorrow.
