Why no rear fog lamp on vehicles in USA when everyone loves front fogs?

Kinda like the dummies that drive with their front fogs on... they would piss off people behind and in front....

Kinda like turn signals. For some, the concept is completely out of reach. :notsure:

I owned several Porsche vehicles and they came with extra rear lights that were red to be used in heavy fog or rainy conditions so the cars behind you could see you and not ram into you. I wouldnt call them rear fog lights.

    In all seriousness @mosccat ?
I'd agree,it would be nice. I used to drive the old Mercedes Sprinters for work, and in near blinding conditions, it is nice to have some extra visibility.

In a car with rear fog lamps installed if you turn the fog light switch to on, the rear fog lights turn on, hence the name...

Naa, OP is right! Having come from the European car world, I always added them back on to my US spec cars. If they help you from getting rear ended by some moron in low visibility situations, its worth it. The problem is, in the US, its not uncommon seeing people drive around at night with their lowbeams off... soooo.... haha

I don't know, I've read on another forum about flashing strobe lights installed on the rears of some vehicles that go off-roading. What gives with that? Wait, I know - maybe it's supposed to provide some awareness on the dusty trail that there's a vehicle ahead of you? :notsure:

Only recently heard of rear fog lights and was pretty pissed at the thought that I’d have to install one on my brand new truck. I don’t, so that’s a relief. Sure, driving my truck around here screams idiot American, but that stupid bicycle reflector-sized light screwed into the bumper looks absolutely retarded.

Silly Europeans...with your crazy taxes and rear fog lights.
