Why no rear fog lamp on vehicles in USA when everyone loves front fogs?

I hate those drivers. They want to play cops, since they think just because they are doing the speed limit, they can hang out in the passing lane. They wont move on purpose when they see that you are close to them, then comes the finger. Very very few drivers here actually see you coming and move out of the way.

No road etiquette whats so ever over here, very sad.

 

I’ve personally never in my life found a use for fog lights. Maybe it’s just because thick fog is rather rare where I have lived.

 

That's when you pull in front of them and then you start to drive slower then they are. I do it to tailgaters especially when I am going faster then the posted speed - fuck'em!

 

My biggest pet peeve here is SoCal! Too many of those idiots around here.

 

They know, and don't care in my hood, in fact you'll probably not like the response you get from them,,,, but what do you expect from people who buy $600-900 shitboxes driving around on 2 month to 2 year old temp tags?

 

There is that also. Not worth the effort.

 

Front fogs.... meant for driver to see better

Rear fog..... meant for safety... so people behind you can see you from farther away.... Stock rear fogs are never bright enough to blind the rear driver.... its as bright as an activated brake light...

 

Reminds me of the JDM fog i had on my old Integra... in which i miss a lot and regret selling it every day.

Dude you should look up the English M.O.T Vehicle safety test. I was a mechanic back home and when I moved to the states I was shocked at how lame the vehicle checks are.

The English system is not as over the top as the German test but that’s a whole another thing.

English vehicle safety Test checks everything to do with safety such as... rolling road brake check (side to side, front to back comparison), flex hoses, main brake line, suspension, corrosion, seatbelts (operation/tears), headlamp alignment, lights, horn, windshield, windshield wiper condition, tires...and way more. basically everything!
The nice thing about the test is that u know the car following behind you should have good brakes, tires etc so they should be able to stop if u do.

Also, buying a used car with a fresh MOT gives you some peace of mind, the safety test over doesn’t mean shit.

Some of the cars I see rolling around over here in Hawaii is just plain scary!!

I do like to use engine braking though when someone is tailgating me

Its great when its pitch black outside and you are somewhere in the woods, they actually illuminate the road in front so you can see where you are going. I actually use them always when its dark out. My fog lights are yellow so it makes me easier to spot.

 

From what i read and heard its because a lot of folks in the US actually think its all a joke and dont follow the rules. Like some people will refuse to wear a mask.

I could be very wrong though.
