mobil 1 every 5-7k in summer and every 3-5k in winter (to stop moisture issues).

    engine is dieing at 90k.

the oil pumps in these trucks are known to suck, but sadly that's not literal so have fun pushing 10k + changes [IMG]

Toyota does not have a synthetic interval recommendation for the Tacoma.

    End Thread.

I don't have one; not sure I would chance it either way. Even if it was completely unrelated, when the engine finally stops running, I'll think "SHIT, if I would have not done my oil change on a 10k mile interval that one time..."

The chart in my original post is from the Toyota Owners website (http://www.toyota.com/owners/web/pages/home) and the chart is titled "Synthetic Oil Change Intervals". It lists the 2011 and 2012 Tacoma along with most all other Toyota units along with this note: "See chart below to determine the correct change intervals for the synthetic oil in your Toyota."

It may well be that there is not a synthetic oil recommendation for the 2010 and prior Tacomas.

Toyota does not recommend increasing the oil change interval when switching to synthetic. The only reasoning I can see is the Tacoma is spec'd with dino oil for which the oil change interval is 5000 miles.
