    A friend of mine visited Germany, drove one, they make the mileage. If every new vehicle in the US made the mileage that we have the technology and ability to build, government would be even more "broke" than they are. You think 30 and 40 MPG is as good as it gets for gas? Research gasoline vapor engines or watch the documentary Gas Hole. We can go to Mars and send satallites to the far reaches of our solar system, but we cannot make a more efficient internal combustion engine?
