Bugger, skid plate, colour coded cap, bed mat, AFE Air Filter, Rear diff breather mod, Chirp on door lock;unlock, ABS mod, Weathertechs front and rear, 60" Hi-lift jack, LED light mod in rear bed, 12V accessory in bed, n more stuff.
I think with a cap on it the LB looks proportional to the rest of the truck. Mine is just too red. Spring is coming and so is some black paint: black grill, black bumpers, and black fender flares.

omg i hate double cabs and long beds o_O...that's why i got the regular cab...easy to park, short wheelbase, easier to manuever offroad...really i don't even like extended cabs...i know most everyone loves them though but i can't stand them...then again i'm kinda oldschool..took me awhile to get used to the midsize truck after owning my compact '88 toyo...i absolutely hate full sized trucks..lmao...unless you tow alot of heavy stuff then there is no need to have one...most people that have them just drive to work and never tow anything and get 15 mpg or less...kindof pointless to me..lol....but anyways i'm prolly the only person that thinks like this...i like small cars and trucks...my car is an mitsu evo ix...i hate big cars like camaros, mustangs, chargers, and such...just personal preference

I got the double cab long bed because I carry passengers all the time. It's also great for carrying stuff in the back seat when the bed is full or its raining out. I use the bed a lot, especially for hauling my atv. I don't want all the weight of the atv sitting on the weak tailgate. It's not hard to park for people who use the mirrors. I don't think gas mileage is too different from a short bed to a long bed.

I have the short bed. I four wheel a fair amount and when doing so, shorter is better. I also haul virtually nothing and I have the bed extender for the rare occasions I do (best of both worlds IMO).

I wouldn't trade mine for a short bed or access cab if you paid me.

The benefits far outweigh any cons. The only thing that mildly bothers me is I can't nose into most parking spots on the first try. I back into pretty much every parking spot now.

I'd get the long bed. I love mine, and I think it looks better than short beds. Plus, you can haul things, or even sleep in the back. Can't do that in a short bed.

I absolutely love my 2006 Double Cab Long Bed. The whole bed length issue is one of those topics that people are usually dead set on. I cannot stand the short bed Tacomas because they do not allow adequate room for hauling.

Some people argue that the short beds look much better. And, I guess it's a matter of personal opinion. However, I think the long bed models look just fine as well.

i would never ever get a short bed. i use the shit out of my truck and need all the bed space i can get

agree with the parking but the truck is also wider than a 1st gen making parking and door dings a little shitty

    agreed x1000000

I see a lot of "can't stand" and "I hates". you should all be loyal to tacos no matter what the bed length. They are all great. The bed lengths should suit the application.

    I agree with Fibertop-

I decided on the SR5 long wheel base 4x4 as the ride is smoother than the shorter wheel base tacos. For what its worth. If I were going to do a lot of off roading, I would probably go with a shorter bed.

I think to each his own and buy what makes ya happy. There all good.

Dont know if this was posted or not, but the Long Bed does not come in manual tranny...

That was the deal breaker for me...I wanted a DC LB Sport with 6 speed. Nobody had one...then i called toyota and they said no manual in the long bed for some reason. Dont know if they changed that in the 2010's or not.

Long Bad is better all way around plus there are some perks. We went on vacations last year and had to make overnight stop. It was raining so we could not put out the tent up. Well I had 4 my kids + wife sleeping comfortable on the back of the truck I was sleeping in the cabin. With ARE shell that thing is like camper. :)
I have to say it was best choice ever.

Is that an ARE cap or tonneau? If tonneau, did you close the tailgate or leave it open for air?

    ARE cap looks like that
    [IMG]
It has minivan style vents on the side with mesh net for bugs.
With Long bad you can easily sleep in that thing. I had light and portable DVD playing :D With TRD suspension there is plenty of room to fool around with the girlfriends too with out too much bouncing around

I love mine too! That extra 13" doesn't sound like much but it really it...and that is what she said too! I can fit more lumber in the back of my truck, plus like many of you say, I think they look better.

like my longbed, but then i bought it to haul things, to by a truck for looks versus function doesnt make sense to me. also i came out of a crewcab 8' bed ford so this thing seems very easy to park

The longbed is so much more functional as a truck. That little shortbed just doesnt have the room if you use for hauling or dogs and hunting gear or fishing, ect. All of them are great looking it truely does depend on what you do with your truck. I like how BlueT put it, it is a tent or mini camper if you get to a spot in the rain and snow and dont have time to set up. I came from an 09 F250 crew cab so none of these trucks seem big to me
