Spacer adds 1/2" lift by itself, so that would mean you only got 1/2" out of the 888s. Something doesn't make sense.

Anyone found any info on why they are not getting enough lift? I have the same problem from the kit i got from HS. I have a 16 DCLB, but only got about 1-1.25 inchs of lift in the front. Is there any difference between 2nd and 3rd gen 5100's?? I could add a 1/2 inch spacer to get what i "wanted" out of spending all this money, but just makes me think i might as well got spacers from the get go :pout:

These trucks all sit at slightly different heights from factory. What you should be doing is comparing hub to fender BEFORE and AFTER lift, NOT comparing your numbers to other trucks...

Also, can anyone explain the reason why a 1/2" spacer will give you 1" of lift? How does that work?

Probably because of the weight of the truck compresses the spring so that extra 1/2" only gets you 1/4" lift. Or something like that.
Edit** that makes no sense. Guess i have no idea

I have one of each on both sides with 887 and I wouldnt do it again. My cv angles were bad, put in a dif drop and they are borderline good now. Also, certain quick drops on my suspension and the driver side maxes out on extension and bangs hard. This is with 887

Half inch spacer gives an inch of lift because it sits well inboard on the truck suspension. Half inch where it is translates to an inch out at the wheels .

    I did OME 888's on 5100's set to 0. HS 3-leaf AAL w/ overload spring re-installed.

Measurements right after lift are as follows...
    Front Driver: 23 (w/ 1/4in spacer)
    Front Pass: 23-1/4
    Rear Driver: 23-3/4
    Rear Pass: 23-3/4

I'll re-measure here at some point to see where I'm at 3 months later.

Yea, i understand to look at my own numbers before and after, which i've done a million times. But seeing what others got out of the same lift setup on almost the same truck still helps.
And i'm not a strut spacer expert, i never wanted to go that route, thus zero research done on them but what i've read is the 1/2 inch equates out to be about 1 inch. Which is a route i'm now considering since my 5100/888 combo didn't do quite what i hoped.
I'm just curious if anyone has found rock solid info on why this would happen.

Any word from the manufacturer or the seller about the discrepancies of lift?

I haven't contacted ARB yet and HS didn't quite give me much info. Just that lift results vary, every truck is different, etc. They even said that most people who use 5100's (instead of actual OME shocks with the 888's) tend to get more lift than what ARB says the 888's are rated for (i.e. 2.75+ inches)
So to get maybe 1.5 inch increase at most really confuses me. :notsure:

    No problem!

Here are some more data points for you. I also just went out and re-measured after some settling, so those new numbers are below. Keep in mind I've added some weight in the rear.

    Stock suspension/Stock wheels & tires
    Front Driver: 20-1/2
    Front Pass: 20-3/4
    Rear Driver: 22
    Rear Pass: 21-1/2

    OME 888 w/ 5100's at 0 & 1/4" driver's spacer; HS 3-leaf AAL w/ overload re-installed. Stock wheels & tires and no added weight.
Front Driver: 23 (+2-1/2 over stock)
Front Pass: 23-1/4 (+2-1/2 over stock)
Rear Driver: 23-3/4 (+1-3/4 over stock)
Rear Pass: 23-3/4 (+2-1/4 over stock)

I'm not sure why the 1/2in variance in gain in the rear, one of my original measurements could have been off.

Three months after suspension install and approx. 4000 miles. Also added roof rack (aluminium), bed rack (steel) and RTT. Also added new wheels and 33's.
Front Driver: 22-3/4 (-1/4 after settling)
Front Pass: 23 (-1/4 after settling)
Rear Driver: 23 (-3/4 after settling & weight)
Rear Pass: 23-1/4 (-1/2 after settling & weight)

Ordered 888s w/ 5100s from HS (arrive on Monday). I've already thrown an AAL on it and initially I measured gains of 2¾" in the RR & 3" in the LR. Will be interesting to see what happens in the front.

Hope it turns out how you want! Add pics and measurements (hub to fender) when you can

I ordered the same. After some researching while waiting for the front shocks, I decided to return the 888's and go with Eibach's.

There were more complaints of sagging than actually holding.

I'm assuming you're referring to the standard length? In my pea brain, wouldn't the entended 5100s (or essentially any longer shock, excluding long travel ones) be designed for taller coils?

    Work in progress...
Yep, its a triangle. Think of a pair of dividers/compass. As you spread the legs apart the gap between the tips is the greatest. Closer to the joint the distance between the legs is less extreme.

Nice! That's the exact setup I am looking at. Can you share how much install cost was? I'm getting numbers all over the place.

Thank you. 5100’s all around and alignment was like $900.
