Ford was required to put the lights on the Raptors by DOT regulations. It identifies them as oversized vehicles. They also have additional rear marker lights to meet the same DOT regulations. It is not a Ford exclusive design element, but how they implemented it is. It just so happens that it looks badass on them and they started a trend. Shame on them!!

Side note, love the wheels and stance! I have 6112/5160 combo as well but I gotta ask— what top hat kit is that on your 6112’s? Are they spacers?

I knew what they were originally designed for and I do love Raptors. I was never going to get them for myself but I got them as a secret santa gift so they’re on for kicks and I think they look great accenting the rest of the things I’ve done to the truck haha.

Yes, spacers to get the full 3” on the front.

    Nice truck, btw

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
    Dude, that looks really nice.

I can't stand Raptor lights. Primarily because as transportation markers they serve a purpose. If your truck isn't required to run them per DOT, then don't.

Plus, it seems every car on the road runs around with beams on high, fog lights on, blinding everyone on the road.

I've seen lots of Tacomas with beams on high, super bright LED's, fog lights going, and raptor lights. Ugh.

Enough with all the extra lights already. You aren't that important.

    Or maybe I'm just old....

Never ceases to amaze me how butt hurt some get over 3-4 little amber lights.
String Xmas lights on your truck, if you like, IDGAF.
    It's your truck.

Maybe not old enough to remember the comment- “If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing at all”

Again, if you don’t like them, don’t put them on your truck. Personal preference….

And I’m sure glad we don’t all like the same stuff….

    I agree-

I think the concept of “you do you” should apply here.

Diversity isn’t always met with favorably…..

imo, raptor lights lets your truck to be seen easier, which means its less likely to get hit by someone in inclement weather/ low visibility conditions. Also, if the owner likes to have the "raptor lights" on their vehicle, that doesn't have to be justified, it's there own vehicle just the fact that they please their owner is also a function.

Not sure if it's an age thing or something else...probably something else. lol

I've had one member write a positive observation (on this thread) about these lights simply because of how they looked on my vintage grill.

It seems opinion-perception is the priority and voicing that observation is important.

I'm glad we all don't like the same stuff too.
