    As so many people have stated it depends on your wants/needs of a vehicle. My 1st gen is my DD and trailblazing truck my wife and I love to 2-track in, 2.7 with a manual 5 speed is loads of fun. My wifes second gen is more for longer trips plus being a 4.0 with a manual 6 speed is a fantastic motor on the hills and never losses its speed when we are going home uphill in the mountains.
    I love my little first gennie BUT driving the wife's 2nd Gen I can see why people switch to the newer better machine.
    Only thing I truly despised about the 2nd is replacing the knock sensor after a mouse nibble the wire......gawd that was a PITA.
