    No apple fan boys please!!!!!

    Background :

I've had apple Iphones since they first came out up until the iphone 4s. The 4s was the apples lack of listening to customers and doing any form factor changes in almost 3 years had done me in. I was upset that my friends had bigger faster phones with more options.

So I switched to android. My first Android was a galaxy s2. Loved it for about 3 months. Then the problems started. Over heating, call drop, random resets, etc. That phone was replaced 5 times through att warranty. After the 5th time they finally sent me a different phone. A note 1. It was absolutely amazing. About 7 months trouble free. Then it started. Same amazing most identical as the s2. replaced twice. Then I upgraded.

I was hesitant to get another samsung device since the two previous had left me dead in the water. But as reluctant as I was and not wanting to go back to the tiny screen and limitations apple cripples you with. I picked up a note 2. Wonderful device and after 12 months of owning. Never a single incident until month 14. My memory card died and wiped out all my saved info on my phone. It was crushing and I vowed not to go back to samsung.

It was time for my upgrade and I had decided the iphone 5 was going to be my save all. I went to the att store and went back and forth as to how I was unhappy with my androids and the sales guy who was die hard android kept pushing. He brought out a white note 3 and said just give it a chance. You have 30 days to return if you don't like it. I still said no and told him I wanted an iPhone 5. After going back and forth he advised me if I took the note 3 it was going to be free. I paid the 299.99 for the phone and then he applied a 327.89 credit to my bill.

I've had this phone since last year and no major issues. Except my gps doesn't work half the time, and it is always trying to update something. (Not really an issue since I am unlimited).

But I find myself waiting and wondering when it's going to crap out on me.

So my question tw is what should I consider with the thoughts of apple entering my mind once again. I know the pros of android is ability and free apps as well as not limited to certain functionality the iphone is limited to. Or has apple completely changed? I love being able to save stuff from websites to my phone now. Also being able to download unlimited music for free. As well as the plethora of free apps that most ios users pay for. But has it changed that much. Has apple really started listening?

iPhones suck. Went to The google phones (currently Nexus 5) and won't go back. The access to google apps and backups are what sold me. Have fun.

I'm ready for my 2yr contract to come up so I can drop my GS3 for an iPhone 6. Only reason I went to Android was for a larger screen, everything else about it pisses me off on an almost daily basis.

The way I see it is go Apple if you want a phone that works just as a phone with the apps it comes with. It will do that beautifully, but not much else.

Go android if you like the ability to change things to the way YOU like and what suites you best.

If you are technologically savvy, it's a no brainer. Android all day long. If you just like to use your phone and want it to be easy, go apple.

I've had a couple android phones and they both were great! At first.. Like after the first month, they had problems. Battery barely lasted 6 hours, apps and internet would crash on it, freeze all the time, they would over heat sometimes, texts wouldn't send once in a while, etc. I will probably never get an android again. Now for a windows phone, I can't say since I've never owned one, but if they're like their computers, I wouldn't touch one of those either.

after having 1 droid and 3 iphones I think I'm at that point in my life where I just want a phone where people can just call me or text me. my current iphone is cracked all to hell, has no sim card, and I just use it as an ipod in my truck and an alarm clock, so I don't have a cell phone at the moment here in Germany. when I had the droid (droid x i think) I liked it because of the apps, games, and screen size (at the time being). I could throw it or drop it and it wouldn't break. the iphone is fragile, we already pay an arm and a leg for the damn phone I don't want to pay out more for some case to protect it. not as many of the apps and games appeal to me as what the android phone had. when I get stateside and both my wife and I will need new phones it's hard to tell what we'll get. I suppose as long as it can connect to my truck via usb and I can play music off of it, text and call, gps, email (which is pretty much every phone) then it will be a long day in the phone store. She'll probably want whatever iphone is out by then.

I had a droid before an iphone. LG Ally or whatever. It was an ok phone but I hate how difficult most cell phones are to navigate. Maybe it's just me but some phones you have to go through menu after menu to get to something simple, where the iphone I just hit home>settings and I'm there. No hunting for anything.

On another note, I had an Iphone 4, upgraded to Iphone 5 when it firs came out for $216 including tax and sold my old iphone 4 for like $200 so basically a free upgrade. The fun of it has worn off, I don't use apps anymore or play games. And recently I thought about ditching the iphone but I really like having my music right there (and easy to navigate once again) and I was getting irritated at battery life.

I use to unplug my phone at like 10am, and by 8pm my phone would shut off completely dead. Last night I shut off all location services (I only had maps on which I only use once in a great while) and turned 4G off completely. This morning I unplugged my phone at 7:30am, here it is 11:10pm and I am only at 50%. I finally found the power hog and can tollerate the phone again :p
Sure internet takes a few extra seconds to load but my battery life is back and I don't have to worry about the phone dying. The building I work in has 1/5 bars almost everywhere so the phone is constantly searching and hopping from 3G to 4GLTE and kills the crap out of the battery. Not anymore

    Iphone.

You can go buy tons of different phones out there, with all kinds of wazoo features, but like you experienced, they don't last. I've had iPhones for awhile. Everyone in my family has finally switched after multiple problems with their phone of the week from one of the other brands after seeing how I never have phone problems.

Same with laptops. I've had this macbook for 4 years without one issue. It still works as good as day one. Yet I hang out with people, or while at school, their laptops are sloooooow, freeze, have to be restarted, etc.... Mine just keeps chugging along without issue. Hell, I can't even remember the last time I actually had to power down my macbook.
